    why the "....no" tho?

This is just guesswork, but I think he said no to everything written before in this thread, since he wrote the expanding universe theory as an actual fact and something that is undeniably happening right now.

But that is just my guess, I believe that he just wrote the thing not considering how it sounds, not necessarily how he believes things are.

wait so..I dont have to have everything installed and running when I dont ever use it? What a friggin concept!!!!

Or rather, you have a choice to have something other running instead. Like explorer.exe for example.

I believe that European Union is much more of an economical power with further reaching influence than USA today. And to be honest, I COULD talk about Olof Palme, but you don't know who he was, but everybody in the world knows who JFK was.

So, ok, what is your opinion about Olof Palme assassination?

I'm envisioning a low-imprint OS that still uses FAT32/NTFS style files and structures (making it easy for windows users to transition all of their stuff without it breaking), but has a lot of cusomizations to download/purchase/access online. You basically boot into a widget manager.

A modular OS system would be heaven. Everything I need and none of the shit.

I know Linux would be something like this, but my personal view on Linux is that it sucks ass

I think it is THE proof that US Goverment is a totalitarian and manipulative goverment, much like China and the formet Soviet Union. But at this day and age, it makes them much more dangerous.

I have watched everything I can about John F. Kennedy, I liked him, and if he was still alive I think he would have done great things in his life. He was the last real democrat to be elected as president, we can only hope that such a man will be elected again someday, to bring a stop to this joke that USA is today.

I think that around 90% of the people living in USA have seen some sort of document considering Kennedy assassination conspiracy, but how many of us living around the world have seen anything about it? Very few I guess, and the documentaries have been rather vague at best, especially with manipulative assholes like Peter Jennings as their hosts.

Well, you might be interested in another view to the subject.

You may watch it here, thanks to Google Videos

Honestly I think Google OS is something on the line of Google X, a web interface that is a portal to all software solutions offered by Google, and not a complete new OS for your computer.

If the rumors about Google making an online version of OpenOffice with Sun, then it would be basically AJAXed web interface with integrated office tools, mail, messenger, maps, froogle, "browser" and base.

IF Google is insane enough that they actually think that Google OS could fly, they are propably making some Linux distro with their own twist but they are not going to go head to head with MS on that market and throw away hundreds of millions for developing a software that might born dead.

  • so, any of you have 360s?

im more interested in the gameplay and how the games will play again and again.

Then you should save your money and buy Revolution, Xenon is great and all, but it's a mainstream console, and that means that there are not going to be any risk takers there, most of the games are done with same formula, the same safe offering for mainstream gamer.

That said, I AM goin to buy Xenon at some point, when it has had a long run when I can have atleast ten games I really really want to buy and can't have them on my PC nor Revolution. But up until then, I don't see it worth the money they are asking for it. I play games for the games sake, and much like you, I'm looking for a good gameplay experience, like Psychonauts, Civ 4, Movies, sure neat graphics are a big part of the gaming experience, but Xenon is no thrills ride on every other aspect than graphics so far.

And I really think it's bad judgement from MS side if they don't support mouse in their console just because it will make Xenon too much of a computer. PS3 most definedly is going to offer some sort of pointer device, since it has Internet browsing support - a dreadful idea for my part, yet another browser I need to make my sites compliant - and Revolution has the most innovative pointer device in the history of man.

I'm waiting for MS to do Mac OS X and make something really radical and really new. All the versions after 95 have been updated products, and when taken by steps any one package is hardly worth the money they are asking for it.

In my mind 98 was the windows 95 was supposed to be, and the next good version was XP and the next version should be as big jump as XP was from 3.11 era. But what can you do, you have to take the product MS gives you and shove it in to your ass.

Where are my free choices? I want the Browser of my choice, my window and desktop manager of choice, the media player of choice, better support with other platforms, the ebility to run program only modes so everything else on the background doesn't hog the system resources. When can I control the OS the way I want?

Thank you JonM for coming here and presenting a theory as undeniable fact

Now, I'm not saying that it isn't true, I'm a supporter of the expanding universe theory, but by no means we have empirical evidence of it in such a large scale that we can say that for sure.

    Great write though.

Isn't that the coolest movie ever

The movie has worst script ever, but the action scenes are way too cool and the setting is nicely done.

I think I saw the Warriors of H & E but I think I was too tired and dozed off somewhere there. There are less and less interesting Western movies anymore, propably the only ones I buy anymore these days are Johnny Depp movies, spectacles like Spider-man, Chronicles of Riddick and very few of the olden movies like Blaxploitation and other such cool movies.

Takeshi Kitano is a great actor and a great director/writer, he has a certain way to approach films that would be almost impossible to many other directors. And he made my favourite genre of samurai flicks look so awesome that no modern film can touch it in zatoichi, you know, when I was in Kendo around a decade ago, I got in to the whole asian theme, movies, literature and all that. It was neat to discover a whole new world when I tought that Hollywood made the coolest fimls.. how wrong was I.

I got pretty much all bigger Miike movies, Happines of the Katakuris, Ichi, Audition, Visitor Q, MDP, DOA 1/2, Full Metal Yakuza. He is a sick son of a bitch, but he makes the movies cool

I'm actually pretty disappointed with Google Talk, the Jabber platform isn't that good to start with and it lacks alot of features, but never to worry, Google has come through with alot before and the program is in beta (which is true with ALL Google products as of late.)

Yeah, I have seen the Infernal Affairs, they were all good movies.

Today it's much more varied than back when I started, back then it was pretty much HK films that were watchable, Japanese cinema has gone long way in my opinion, and the few good ones that were interesting never got the localised. Kinda like how Thai and Taiwanese cinema is in a turning point, Tony Jaa is a name to follow these days, he might do some crazy shit in the coming years.

If you want to see some mainstream asian movies, Zatoichi, Brother and My Wife is a Gangster are sure picks. Also if you want to see a cult film you might want to pick up Electric Dragon 80,000 V it's really funny.

I'm still looking for couple of films that I must own, the other is basically a HK/Japanese remake of Jet Li's The One, and some Korean slapstick parody take on the Back to the Future movies.

Also Musa: The Warrior that for some reason has trickled through some channels even to our stores that don't usually sell that much asian movies. Jiang Hu is highly recommended too. There are just tons of movies everybody interested in asian cinema should watch, if not just to know what people are talking about.
