So simple, so true Klein. Crawl before you can walk, walk before you can run.

    I would. I have.

But for every attempt, my faith in the mod scene goes down a notch or two. Would be nice to be part of something, which would be released some day.

    Hi there,

Grass... For an outdoor games environment. A wild one. I am working in Max. So I need to plant a lot of grass, you know a single polygon with an alpha mapped texture on. Man, it sure takes A LOT OF planes to get something that remotely looks like grass.

I have worked a bit with the scatter tool to do the distribution for me, but I am not too pleased with the limitations of that. Do anybody here experience with that?

Sure feels good to be back. None of those other whimpishly relevant forums quite cut the mustard...

Okay, another update. This is a hut, which stands on a stalk or a pillar in a river. It is not so much as hut as it is an organic growing thing. But it still serves as accommodation. This is still WIP, but I am sure you get the point. There are some anomalies with the uvw mapping and the alpha channels that I need to sort out, so please don't comment on that. Other than that, C&C is very welcome!

Minor update. The log looked like crap, so I have improved it a bit.

Yeah that delete .ini file thing resets EVERYTHING completely, and max will then generate a new standard .ini file. Also a good way to transport your settings around with you...

Wow! I have never heard that before! You reset the gui, did you delete that .ini file manually, which will reset ALL your settings?

What application can truly do what the other big guys can't? I personally feel that these days it is more a case of how fast and easy can you do it, rather than can it be done at all...
