    306 Sedan.

Mines a 1.8 SR. At the rate it consumes fuel you'd assume it was a 2.2 or soemthing. Still, it's doing well so far, even if I have ahd to fork out a fair bit on it. It's French, so obviously it's 'quirky' which is just another way of saying that because it's now more than 10 years old, at least half of it is oging to stop working.

I love it though. It's comfy, it goes at a decent rate when I ask that it does and it has tons of space in the back adn the boot.

    Nice article.

Personally speaking, I fucking loathe Flash. It's primary purpose seems to be to hamper navigation and slow up the process of viewing the page. Generally speaking, if I'm on a website, I want some information. Anything that slows down the process of me obtaining that information irritates me. Flash has it's place and there's no doubt it can be useful, but mostly it's just abused.

I work in IT procurement and if one of out suppliers switched to using Flash on their website I would dump them in a second, one of suppliers has their pages hosted inside a frame so the URL always stays the same. Huge pain in the arse. To give the direct link to a certain products page requires a whole lot more clicking than with our other suppliers who don't do anything that fancy, meaning you can just copy/paste the URL. Yes, it's a minor thing, but over time, it becomes very, very irritating indeed.

The point is that a lot of this neat/flashly stuff that people do to make things look tidier is just hampering them, whenever you're dealing with things in high volume you're looking for convenience and usability. Those things ain't the same as something being pretty and neat.

arr, I be doing a monitor eval for work as it happens. Samsungs looking very good at the moment, low response times, good brightness/contrast etc If it were my money, thats what I'd be going for. Have heard very good things about Benqs as well and a mate got a lovely Sony trueblack thing (super pricey though).

Just don't go with some unbranded piece o' crap, they invariably use the cast off rubbishy panels to make them.

Some of it looks rather refined, other bits look pretty chunky and a tad messy, maybe some more custom props required?

Yeah, alcohol is terrible, but I utterly fucking adore it. My diets noot too awful, work screws it a bit because of the hours, but i cook a lot of stuff and get through a fair bit of salad. Being actively healthy as opposed to just not being chronically unhealthy would require a huge, huge lifestyle change for me and I'm simply not willing to do that for the sake of feeling a bit better.

For the record, I'm 5'8 or so and weigh 8 1/2 stone.

Have you got a proper brush editor in there now then? Or do you still ahve to do all you interior stuff with max and manually add vis areas and so forth? That (along with my inferior system) really put me off mapping for the first one.

OK look guys, you are getting some things mixed up here.Normal maps have nothing to do with shinyness. All they do is draw X Y and Z vector information from a texture (the normal map) to a flat surface which then reacts to specularity on the texture. As long as you don't overkill your specular and you make your normal map subtle enough to avoid having too much bumpyness but strong enough to show that it has depth, then there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't use normal maps. I do this every day and I know that my work wouldn't look half as nice if I wasn't using normal maps. So before you say normal mapping sucks and makes everything look like shiny crap.... learn to use it right.

My sentence structure blow. What I meant to say is that I hate this trend of people making a normal mapa and then lazily generating a spec map form the base/normal and making everything looks like it's coated with high gloss varnish. I think it's probably a case of spec map abuse rather than normal map abuse sepcifically, but the two seem to go hand in hand fairly often.

Dark Nemesis : Some of those textures are v, v nice. Good stuff.

Hate this trend of normal mapping everything and making it shiny. It's fucking vile.
