Just like someone can fire a gun and hit a brick in the pyramids from 10miles away, it doesnt make him a sharpshooter.
Thats actually a lot harder than it sounds, especially at 10 miles away.

Work Machine:
Intel Dual Xeon 1.70 gig
512 Ram
Everything else is on board sound and video and stuff.
I'll throw in a Quadro FX one of these days
Home Machine:
AMD 64 3500+
Some kind of ASUS mobo with SLI
1 Gig Kingston Hyper-X (I think its PC3500, though I cant remember off the bat)
ASUS GeForce 7800 GTX
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer 7.1
Creative Inspiron 7.1 Surround Sound
Seagate 160 gig HD
Seagate 250 gig HD
Dual 17inch CRTs (one is blurry as fuck though, time for an LCD upgrade)
Usually do a home upgrade every year before Quakecon. Last year it was a full upgrade to this. This year the upgrade will probably be throwing in another 7800 before Quakecon (if they even have it again this year)
I do a work upgrade whenever we have the money to buy an upgrade, and so far, that has been never.

Zilla makes a hell of a good point.

yes, RD, but if you watch the documentry and look at those pics, you see that they are of the same pieces of debris: a few wheels, a small section of the side that is unscarred, and an engine that the documentry claims is not part of the alledged passenger jet that hit the pentagon.
Again, I'm not saying I believe or disbelieve either side of the argument. I'm just playing Devil's Advocate.

I know this topic is being beaten to death these days, but IGN posted an article that seems rather unbias in both respects (or maybe I just didnt read enough into it).
QuoteThe Impact of Violent VideogamesShould we prevent children from playing them?
by Erik Brudvig
March 1, 2006 - Violent media has existed as long as human history and the debate over how or when to control it is as hotly contested as ever. With the trend towards greater realism and graphic content that began in the 90's, videogames have found themselves the focal point du jour. But how much of an impact have these violent videogames had? We'll take a look at the psychological, political, and economic issues surrounding violent videogames and try to make sense of it all. No matter which side of the fence you sit on this argument, it is important to know the facts...

I'm not saying I believe or disbelieve either side, but RD, since those images are so easy to find, post some here then.

QuoteDisplay MoreOblivion Gold, Ships in Mere WeeksThe Elder Scrolls IV is, at last, officially complete.
by David Adams
March 2, 2006 - It's been a long wait, but after much drooling and speculation, Bethesda at last announced an official ship date for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion: both the PC and Xbox 360 versions will arrive in stores March 20.
Happily, the game is now officially gold, meaning Bethesda has finished work on the epic RPG title. As ambitious as any Elder Scrolls game -- in fact, even more so -- Oblivion promises vast, non-linear gameplay, advanced "Radiant" A.I., countless side quests, action-heavy combat, and next-generation visuals.
"Our most ambitious project ever is finally done," said executive producer Todd Howard. "We're excited to get the game into everyone's hands and let them experience it for themselves. We hope they enjoy it. I think it's our best game yet."
"Oblivion will set the new standard for next generation gaming and change the way role-playing games are viewed forever," said Bethesda president Vlatko Andonov. "We set very high goals and ensure they are reached because that is what our fans deserve and have come to expect from Bethesda Softworks. We are very proud of our team's accomplishments with respect to Oblivion."
Along with the standard edition, Bethesda and publisher 2K Games will release The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Collector's Edition, which features a media-packed bonus DVD, a replica Septims coin, and a 112-page "Pocket Guide to the Empire."
Oblivion is the latest primary chapter in Bethesda's long-running Elder Scrolls series, which began in 1994 with Arena, followed by Daggerfall in 1996 and Morrowind in 2002.
March 20th yall.

Looks pretty sweet besides the insanely pixelated edges. Post higher res pics (that shouldn't be too hard since you made it... right?)

picked up Command & Conquer First Decade the other day. Getting on that old nostalgia trip. Still play Empire at War more than I play c&c, although every weekend me and some of the bms guys get a few games of Generals in.
-
yeah, and we never landed on the moon, the CIA killed Kennedy, the holocaust is a myth, the pyramids were built by aliens, and the Illuminati is secretly ruling the world.
Still good stuff though. After watching some of it, its a hell of a lot more well formed than your standard conspiracy theory.

looks okay, but as you said, nothing special. A bit bland on the architecture and whats up with that horizontal cross beam going into the brick wall/window?
but pretty good for just fucking around. My just fucking around maps tend to be an orange box room with some kind of trigger.

i agree with koko. Its looks great. Some things are superb (couches, feel), but some other things are kind of lacking. Some areas are too simple (first pic far right). The shadows look a little dark, too. but thats just me.
Sweet stuff, no doubt.

Quote from Hourences
Its the prob with most concept artists, they draw things that are not technically possible but you learn to live with it.In the end its their job and its just a concept. It doesnt tell you how it should look exactly, it only brings across the general idea + feeling + inspiration and that it does
Its your own problem how to implent it
If it were to tell you how exactly stuff should look youd be dead bored as a level designer because you wouldnt have the possibility to design own stuff anymore, just copy.
Tell that to bkd86 over at black mesa source. I swear to god that guy doesnt know the meaning of the phrase "limit polygon". I understand that you're supposed to draw the concept, but the problem with him is that he gets so pissed when you dont do exactly what he draws.
But I should stop bashing him. He might try to sue me (again).
