I got to play it at Quakecon. A lot more than I expected. Of course, I'm still stuck on the command and conquer way of doing things...

I'm not really sure what the incentive to use Linux is.
Uh... complete and total control of your operating system?
QuoteI can recommend Ubuntu but since Dapper, it started to get unstable.
No problems here. Dapper runs like a champ on my machine compared to Hoary (never tried Breezy)
QuoteLinux and Windows are usually so similar these days anways.
No. Just... no.
Quoteoh and getting wireless to work on a laptop is annoying.
Not with Dapper. Instant detection for mine.
the main reason for my dual installation is windows for gaming and modding, linux for everything else. Since we use debian an our university labs, I can ssh straight into the labs straight through the command line without the need for a bunch of poorly coded windows shells that try to do the same thing.
Unless I'm programming in .NET, all my programming is done on linux (sad part is I'm required by my job to do more .NET programming these days. Had to start modding the Doom 3 sdk to remember what C++ felt like [Mmm-Mmm, memory management. Damn virtual machines have spoiled me.])

Started playing Guitar Hero on PS2. That kinda put everything else on hold seeing as how its quite addictive.

A thing I was wondering about the lights;are there any limits as to how many you can have in a scene at once? I understand that if a light shines on more han 3 surfaces at once, it will get quite expensive to render. Is it better to have few lights which shine on many surfaces each, or can you throw in a heap of lights as long as each has a low facecount?
A question I wouldn't mind knowing the real answer to. As far as I know there is no limit. I've just been making sure my lightcount per surface is low and I havent had any problems.
As everyone else said. Looks good, but the lighting would really spruce it up and make all the difference in the world.
Quote from instaLearning the Doom3 engine/radiant editor. Alot of fun, and a huge change from Hammer/Source.
Watch yourself or you'll end up like me, spoiled by radiant, unable to go back to hammer.

If I had a little bit more money to spend on useless fun things, I would so build one of those.

I was kinda thinking it was an advertising hoax. I was thinking more of a bank because of the ps, but its still funny, nonetheless

niiiiiiiiiiiiice. My only complaint is the rocks on the outside. Seem a bit flat. Other than that, awesome.

Just read about this in my gameinformer. I'll be watching this one.

There maybe a such a thing as karma tho, I wouldnt take my chances like you did.

Hey now, just because I said I didn't say there was anything wrong with it, doesnt mean there isn't anything wrong with it...
I need to stop before I confuse myself.

----------
Back on topic: Finished the game. Best use of Doom 3 tech by far. The amout of detail put into each level and the scripted sequences (near the end when Mother controls your path and forms the hallways right in front of you, man that was so cool). Visually stunning. Gameplay was straightforward, there were a few places where I got stuck (most of the time it was fogetting completely about spirit walk).
The story was good. Nothing special in terms of wow twists, but decent.

/SPOILER
I'll definitly pick up the next one.

Avast!
(There isnt a emot that looks like a pirate, so I'm forced to use the next best thing
)Pretty much agree with Mazy, but I think I'm having more fun playing it than he did.
