Consolizing a game...It's nothing new. See: Deus Ex: Invisible War.

You did not just say that!

Have you tried deleting the displacements and remaking them? Compiling without them, too?

That seems like a really short sited perspective to be honest. Really, there's only one single way to visually and narratively present a game set during WW2? Certainly most WW2 games take the beat path, I'll agree there, but to say that your art direction and narrative/story is completely done for you is non sense. There's virtually infinite number of directions you could take any time period both visually and narratively.

If that's the case I've yet to see it in any of the big WW2 games that have been released. It's always been the same but sometimes with bump mapping. Then with Ragdolls. The only difference I ever notice with WW2 games is that they have slightly newer tech with each new release.

We both made interlopers, so nothing wrong with having it like it is. Saves having to pay for a domain that I don't really need, too.

Am I the only one seriously bothered/concerned with the fact that the devs act like they're only making it for consoles?Every single demo/preview is done on a 360 and all the interfaces seem engineered towards consoles in general, I know 360s are easier to bring to conventions and stuff, but all the online previews and in-house videos are clearly being controlled with something other than a mouse.

No you aren't the only one. I bothers me a great deal. A lot of my careface is devided between this and Diablo 3.

That's completely one-sided. I didn't see you complaining at all about other long-running genres like the sci-fi fps, or the modern warfare fps, or the post-apocalyptic fps/rpg hybrid, or even the distant future rts that got hammered through the Earth's core by Command and Conquer.

    Quote from Hourences

A sci fi game can look like may things. There are a hundred ways to portray a sci fi world. There is 1 way to portray WW2. You dont even need to figure out a visual style or a story...

    Ta-da.

You didn't make a point. Was just the same thing I see tenfold in ShackNews comments. Before everyone said they were sick of the Normandy theatre, so this one's in the Pacific and Russia. But no one's noting that change, are they? On top of which, it's freaking co-op. There's a lot of zombie games, but is Left 4 Dead beating a dead horse? Well, no.

So you're happy to see the same moment of history recycled in countless FPS, RTS, MODS and god knows whatever genres and crap. Even better is this WW2 game is going to be exactly the same as everything else but it has coop and some new shaders. Oh wow! Sign me up, it's the same rehashed bullshit but gosh darn, there's 1 new thing about it. That's so worth my money. And it's in the Pacific and Russia, so what? We've already had Russia in just about every WW2 game there is. Most notably the CoD games. And the Pacific was done with MoH... surprise surprise - Pacific Assault. I just love it when they feel they can milk some more cash out of brainless idiots by mentioning the word coop.

Weird how everyone trashes World War 2 as if the endless waves of unimaginative ooga booga monsters from glorginagloob running at you in steel corridors full of pipes and blue lights is some sort of venerable goldmine.

Good to see you miss the point completely.
