The thing with quicksaving is convenience. Say I wanted to stop at a certain point and go do something else (Which I wanted to do many a time but couldn't). Why should I be forced to keep playing towards a checkpoint? I was caught out by this about 4 times thinking I had gone through a checkpoint but hadn't. My own stupidity? Perhaps. But that doesn't dismiss the usefulness of having a quick save function. It certainly isn't something to complain massively about, though.

And heh, mentioning the AI getting interfered with by a quick save? It's bad enough as it is I don't think a quick save would have made much of a difference to it

I'm pretty certain most devs/publishers don't care to mention steam sales for the PC. I reckon they just see the PC as a pirate ship and ignore any sales at all made through digital distribution as those sales were probably pirated copies anyway somehow. Dirty dirty pirates. But don't worry though meights, DICE hasn't forgotten about its loyal fanbase. Notch even likes piracy - how about that.

Gone back to Rome: Total War

Played shogun 2 for 40 minutes and got bored. Couldn't even set up max detail options because there's no dx11 ¬_¬ cant turn on shader model 5 or enable any anti-aliasing, so looks nothing like the screenshots. I am aware most shots these days are bullshots, but it really is no where near the level of quality that's been showed.

The best part of the game was him sprouting out quotes. And the big mutant thing bumping its head and rolling down the stairs unconscious into an acid pit.

What I liked best about that video was your gun wasn't the size of a small planet taking up half of your view.

Did you do the video yourself? It's very good.

So, just finished it. Some spoilers.

    Lets go!

    Pros:

    Great music.

    Nice sounds.

Felt like a badass with the .50cal. Budda budda budda!

Jumping around like an idiot is fun.

Ran silky smooth on 1680x1050 16xaf, 4xaa Super duper extreme.

Some really excellent art on show here, respek.

The controls for the suit are a lot better than Crysis 1.

Had some real fun chucking idiots through windows and off of rooftops! But why does it take so long to throw them after grabbing them by the neck? I would get my ass shot to shit whilst my hand decided what to do.

    Cons:

First half of the game sent me to sleep.

The beginning was too fast for me. One second I was in a submarine, the next I'm drowning then I'm in a suit.

Cliché characters. We got the nerd, the butch girl, the hardass colonel and the old guy from Fallout 3 New Vegas.

Felt like my hand was being held too much at times with the visor and the beginning game instructions. "Move your mouse to look around!" if Hard is chosen I think the help text should go away.

Pretty easy in most aspects, I just felt invincible for majority of the time. I'd just stand there, turn armour on and let everyone shoot at me with no fear of dying whilst spraying at them with my .50cal of doom.

The fov was just silly. Had to bring down the console and adjust it.

The gun in my view was huge so had to change that as well. But it kept resetting itself.

    Bluescreened me twice.

Some of the triggers didn't seem to trigger properly. Either that or everyone is supposed to stand there doing nothing with invisible guns in their hands.

Too much taking control away from the player for my liking.

Can't shoot infected civilians. Why not? Seems like I'd be doing them a big favour.

Didn't really care for the soldiers I thought with. I ended up leaving them behind as they were so slow anyway.

All in all a good experience that was worth my monies, though very flawed in my opinion.

The whole older games being unplayable thing is pretty hollow. Basically after the first 15 minutes visuals are almost meaningless. I'm yet to truly experience this phenomena. If I stop playing an old game it's because I run the fucker through my mind a dozen times and get bored before I even really start.I can still load up Doom, or Deus Ex, or Thief, or Quake 2, or Yoshi's Island and still have a blast.

All that's really changed is we tolerate thing's less and less as time goes on.

    Truth.
