As it is right now, its illegal for two 14~15 year olds to have sex with eachother. Thats basically all I want to change... Wether or not you think that will make it easier for pedophiles to prey on younger people that way, I dont care, I dont want to be a criminal

    So...you're okay with pedophilia? WTF?

Postman: My AA is turned all the way up. So taht must mean my textures are horrible! I'll definately work on improving them in the future as I refine the level.

What actually caught my eye and made me mention it the most was the anti-air gun vehicle's skin (not your own, I know) looked the most muddy so I was curious if the graphics were all the way up

    Again, looking magnificent.

again, noAll I'm saying is that its weird that the limit is 16 or 18 for having sex, especially since almost everyone does it the first time at the age of 14~15. The way it is now, its just criminilizing everyone...

Also I think we have a differing of opinions here. Their party wants the ability for "consentual" sex between a 12 year old and whatever age (ie: old as the creepy fucker on page one). That's their goal. They want to be able to legally fuck children. It's not making the relationships between 14-15 year olds illegal since that is, by and large, already consentual and mutually appreciated between those involved. But to suggest that a 12 year old is capable of making those kinds of decisions and isn't being mentally manipulated by an older man? That's just ludicrous.

Looking great. Just one minor quibble: are your graphics settings turned down in-game? Some textures look muddy.

After last month's great entries I've decided to make this a monthly contest. This month's contest we've refined the rules, refined the specifics and that should help streamline things a bit after some confusions last month.

Without any further adeiu, the specifics:

    THIS MONTH'S MODELLING TOPIC: MINI-MONSTERS

Make a wee beastie of any sort and show us your creature crafting capabilities.

    Max Polycount: 250

    Max Texture Size: 128x128

Please post your name, polycount, and the texture flats all within your final render. Please make clean renders, no funny backgrounds or anything.

    1 entry per person

10 final entries will be chosen by Pericolos and myself.

Final date for June Contest entries is: JUNE 24th

Voting will be carried out on the 25th through the end of the month and a winner will be crowned (and maybe I'll come up with a prize!).

    Alright Mapcore, let's get modellin'!

I'd say that's a pretty accurate depiction. At least in my experience.

There is a rather large publisher-led push for sequels, expansion packs and ports of existing titles. Why? Because these projects are guaranteed money "blood flow" for the publisher and the developer. Will it ever allow the developer off his IV though? Probably not. I know of only one company that managaged to yank the tube loose and try desperately to create and manage an original IP, and that's Gearbox. However, that transition nearly killed the company that year, and ironically it was a darkhorse porting project that saved the company (Halo PC, and thank you all for my quarterly checks that I still recieve, even after the layoffs).

I think what is happening to the industry now is a massive transition and another set of growing pains. We've always been a rather laid-back, creative lot. Sadly that doesn't mean "organized" or "easily managed." Right now others outside the industry are realizing that there are big bucks in game sales. This interest brings with it a double-edged sword. More money for a project, but more responsibility for that money being spent the way the publishers want so they can re-coop costs. That means (in my opinion) that smaller developing houses often get hooked on "maintenance projects." These projects (ports, expansions, and sequels) are nearly devoid of creative outlet and are often stiffly managed by the publisher and the original development team that worked on the original title. The amount of wiggle room on design and creation is immeasurably slim. That kind of creativity killing drudgery really saps one's morale.

There are two solutions to this to the developer, though. In the words of Andy Dufresne from "Shawshank Redemption": "Get busy living, or get busy dying." Damn right. Some people burn out and they're justified in that. The industry can really wear you out and make you seek greener pastures. However, some people go off to start their own companies with hope that they can make it better for people like themselves.

Yeah...I can only say I see a blip of an object. The vid doesn't really prove anything to me.

One would imagine that if you'd actually read anything about the video you'd know it took a picture every second and was not streaming video.

Outsourcing. You get what you pay for. Most every out-sourced title I've seen has had shoddy artwork, poor coding, and been rife with bugs.

One time I competed with a Chinese outsource firm to create a 200 poly German soldier. Theirs looked like a British bobby while mine even had little gear packs and a nice little gun. Oh, and mine was done faster.

Mino, this isnt about parental love. Well maybe in some rare cases, but there are hundreds of millions of thug kids out there, they dont have sex because their parents dont love them.

Wait, what? Can we get an article or study to back any of what you people in this thread are stating? (not just RD, but everyone here). Sounds like wild assumptions and vague anecdotes at best.
