Ooh, this is a good thread. I'm about to work on an amateur project that just so happens to be an RTS.

It's Democrats clamoring to look socially conservative. Fuck Hillary Clinton.

Try explain why evolution is very intelligent, but it would be dumb if god designed it? Do you think there is another way?
Evolution isn't intelligent and it isn't dumb. There is no higher level of evolution it just is. There is no good evolution and no bad evolution. It's so mindnumbingly simple. -

I haven't really been following this debate, but I'd like to point out that your eyeball example has a hole in it in that if you have 2 organisms of a species, and one is lacking one of the things essential to its survival (in this case, its eyesight) this organism is more susceptible to not surving. As such, evolution has worked in this sense. In the end, you'd find it more probable the person whose eyesight is good would survive."The eyeball; requires rods, cones, lens, photonic sensors of some sort, an aperture system. Lacking any element its totally useless."
Sure, it shows evidence of intelligent design, but it also shows how evolution has worked as well.
It's another God-in-the-gaps scenario more than anything. The eyeball, the banana and any of the other "proof god made it" things that creationists (which is what intelligent design folks really are) sling out are just poorly educated shots in the dark. There are plenty of sources for the evolution of the eye and various other structures. Did you know that you possess rods and cones inside your brain as well? Near the back. Only in the eyes? Hardly. It's complex, certainly, but so's your circulatory system and hell, even the mitochondria in your cells. They all perform a function and have done so to a slowly better degree over time.
Evolution never stops, it doesn't level up, it doesn't really jump (other than obvious mutations). You yourself are ever-so-slightly evolved from your parents, and they from their parents, and your kids will be from you and your future mate.

LOL you dont know what you talk about. There is no experience in the world deeper then a psychedelic trip. What do you think why so many people become mad after tripping? If it was so easy to say "hey that was all just a stupid film in my brain, nothing real, nothing i have to think about" they would do it...
And nobody believes everything he sees on a trip, if you belive this. Its more that it makes you think about how real the whole thing including our normal reality is when it is so easy to change it dramaticaly with just a few micrograms of a substance in the brain.
For example i had the experience that there is no materialistic world outside, everything is empty or some kind of pure energy, nothing that could be touched in real. Thats hard to understand for people without such an experience but modern science seem to proove it and some religions like buddhism have this picture of the world too.
Another thing that i learned from psychedelic drugs is that our concept of time is just imagination. A minute can also be feeled as a month or a year in the right condition of the brain.

Hahahaha...okay, bring this up in a new thread where I can smash it down piece by piece at my leisure and stay on topic.

Religion isnt a book that tries to explain evrything.
Uh... do you even read the books you profess to know about? They certainly do attempt to explain everything. From the birth of the universe to what blends of cloth are sinful in the eyes of the gods. Religion is a pre-science, naive way of understanding and explaining the world. It's without any real merit other than having some good stories.
Quote from SteppenwolfIf i have learned one thing from experiments with psychedelic drugs then this is that science trys to explain only the surface of that what we call reality
And there is so much more under this surface WOOOOAHHHHHH

Like breathing walls and imaginary ants on your skin. Psychadelic drugs are about as deep as a kiddy pool. Put down the pipe.

The world is doing just fine.
In general it can handle itself.
Quote from jimiusThere are more forests than there were 50 years ago.
Depends where you go, certainly not in South America.
Quote from jimiusThe air is cleaner than 50 years ago.
Utter tripe. China's gas guzzling upswing in industrialization, the US's rejection of the Kyoto act, etc.
Quote from jimiusThere's less poverty and famine than 50 years ago.
Hahaha, you seriously believe this? Oh my

I never said to fill the gaps with God, so i just couldnt resist twisting ur words as well. Now could u stop changing the subject to the filling of gaps, were trying to have a political religious discussion without AD HOMINEMS
I calls 'em like I see 'em. You got us started on all this God=scienceLOL shit anyhow, so don't even try to bail now. God filling the gaps is bullshit. Pure and simple. "Creationism," "intelligent design (see: Creationism)" and other such false tripe have no place in a science classroom because...they're not science.
-
Quote from RD
Science fills gaps with the truth, whether it be god, tripods or alien semen. Science doesnt care if u hate god, its completely irrelevant to science what ur opinion is  God is possible, and science defeats u if say otherwise.
I don't hate God you insufferable nitwit. I think the idea of him is silly and has no place in science. Get off your moral pedestal and come back to reality. Plugging God into the gaps that science has yet to figure out is just dishonest and patently childish. The final fumblings of someone losing an argument and grasping at territory to stake claim in. Christ you're a moron.

Quote from Kosmo
But then again, can good science afford to exclude god? From what I hear, he has quite a fanbase.
Do you even read posts before you reply to them? No, God is not in science. God and dieties like him were used to define the world around people who did not really understand that world. Nowadays you're watching the desperate clingings of a slowly dying view of the world.
Quote from KosmoBegin from the view of a young boy born and grown in a conservative country and culture that forcefeeds you things as truths till you are 16 years old. That is where I always start.
You can certainly choose it. It's not like it's friggin' genetic.

Quote from RD
Science doesnt exclude God tho. If u believe God cant have made it, then u dont believe in science. Right now as far as we know evrything is possible, including God and its just as 'dumb' to believe it cant be him as believing it can only be him.
Good science doesn't involve "God" filling the gaps.
Quote from GrayFoxAnd by the way: religion is not a choice (in most cases).
Oh that is such incredible bullshit I don't even know where to begin.
-
And what? The other side is that a bored deity made us out of dust and dirt? Come on, mythology doesn't equal science.

Marijuana might make a black man think about looking at a white woman. Racism pretty much made marijuana illegal.

limp bizkit - nookie (not the best music but it's fun to listen to)
Dude, I love that Behind Blue Eyes song, Fred Durst is like, so deep, man.

Ugh.
There are some people here with seriously horrible tastes in music.
Currently I'm listening to a lot of David Bowie. Namely "Ziggy Stardust."

That's just blind to suggest that any major changes - especially a unionization of our industry - wouldn't effect the workers within it, even if they're in small independent developers. I think we'll be especially effected as unionized firms will make lower bids, promise quicker production dates at lower pay. I think it'll flood the market and divide the industry in a harmful manner. Posty no like, bad medicine.

You're completely fucking insane if you think that shlock was better than Batman. An entire movie sold only on the packaging of its two lead stars and little else. Barf.

Many ridiculous laws like this pass through the US goverment relying on the last hope to shut it down, Supreme Court. Unfortunately the republicans are about to control all branches of the goverment which could be catastrophic.http://%7boption%7d
I'm not saying democrats or any other political party is any better, just saying a communist like Government in America would be official.
That's the problem with democracies, they always vote themelves out of democracy.
