In the second relation when having sex, you can't fully give yourself to that girl anymore.

I gotta hear this explained. I give myself fully to my steady girlfriend all the time and love her with all my heart. Shockingly enough we have a healthy sex life. Your point being...?

    Quote from Captain P

And if you're saying that christians make mistakes... well, that's true. Those that are actually christians are still humans, and not everyone does an equally great job at serving God, but it's by grace that we live and we're saved by God because He loves us. That's asolutely no excuse to sin, in fact using it as an excuse would be throwing away what God has given us and actually rejecting Him again.

The Christians over here could take a lesson in humility. More often than not they treat themselves as "better" than everyone else. As for what you said about you knowing that God doesn't approve of divorce. I really really reeeeeeeally loathe it when people claim to know the mind of God, especially relating to something as banal as what covers for our own elaborate mating ritual.

Not mutually exclusive, but not bound together either. Hence why I said I think getting to know the character is more important than having sex. There's more than just one sentence in my post...

I'd fervently disagree with you here. I think that sex is a large part of any relationship and is a great calculator of character as well. Knowing how outgoing, shy, generous, stingy, or how much hygiene can all be dictated during just one encounter. Not to mention that sex is a crucial part of any loving relationship, inside or outside of marriage. It's a connection point between two people that is both deeply intimate as well as a great show of love. Waiting for marriage is just a bygone tradition with its roots in puritanical nonsense. If you want to have a good relationship in marriage sex is a part of that and not knowing if your partner to be is a good match in that regard is certainly important.

GJ dodging all my other points though.

Is it really that stupid? After all, if they don't agree on that, then they probably don't agree on a whole lot more subjects. I don't think it would've been an easy marriage then.

Yes it's really that stupid. He didn't care enough about her to be intimate with her. It was 100% his fault that relationship imploded.

    Quote

Oh, bytheway, being religious doesn't mean you're a christian. Christians are followers of Christ and not everyone who says he is one really is one. Too bad...

Hello cop-out answer! Start policing your own then. Cherry picking the retards from the bunch instead of owning up to your groups mistakes and misgivings is just patently dishonest.

I think it's much more important to get to know her, her character, who she is, before marrying. After all, you should love her, not her body... sure, sex is a part of marriage and a very attractive part, but I'd rather stick to one person that I have sex with than having it with multiple persons. After all, it has a huge impact on a person, you don't forget it that easily and I wouldn't want my mind to wander off to other persons when I have sex with my wife. It'd be treachery towards my wife.Besides... what's wrong keeping something valuable apart for the person you really love, and are willing to marry and stay with for the rest of your life?

I see multiple examples of people that did not have sex before marriage, and lead really good marriages.

You can get to know someone's character and have sex with them. The two are not mutually exclusive. Hello logical fallacy!

PS: I see far many more examples of people who didn't wait until marriage and are thriving. Ironically enough the south and midwest of America (ie: the most religious) has the highest divorce rate per-capita in our entire nation. Wonder why that is...

hahahahaha abstinence based sex ed works like a using a hammer and nails to hold down jello. Good luck with that.

I agree with Captain P.I mean, he's not worrying about HIV or a not-so-planned-kid.

There are alot of other things in this world then just sex and moreover: I think it's cooler to save this (very intimate) thing for the one you (at least think) you really love.

'Cuz remember kids: sex is a wonderfull thing...

But Posty, if you don't think that ID has no scientific value what so ever, howcome you think that the Bible is an accurate historical book?

It's actually pretty decent when referring to the history of some ways of life and geographic locations mentioned in its stories. However all the bumbling explanations of the world around us fall flat. Just like you can read about the Wizard of Oz and know that Kansas exists and so did the Depression.

I guess he didnt see the show, it says Adams from Africa not the ME

Surely that written history couldn't be an allusion to mankind's settling of the fertile crescent and egypt. No way! :monocle:

Yes Kosmo *sob* blease don't let your sister hit me anymore, I admit it, I'm a weakling and dumb as a brick and promise to not believe in god anymore and here's my lunch money. *cries*

Well this conversation is de-evolving (lol pun intended) into a bunch of shit. Kosmo, Mawibse, state your points or leave the conversation.

    Quote from mawibse

    You mean like Adam is??

Reference to historical texts, places or people in scientific or other literature? My word how faulty! Surely this proves the Bible right!

Can I just ask, besides obviously the entire environment system of an MMO deal. But what makes this different than any other zombie game/mod?

Mostly that we'll be taking it out of FPS and into 3rd person and attempting to make the world more "realistic" with a more robust item and inventory system and a world that's very open in a "sandbox" way (think GTA series) to allow players the ability to make their own stories, essentially.

That and it'll be focusing on gameplay, ambience, and player creation in ways that FPS and next-gen technology simply won't allow (without incredible resources rivalling an actual game company).

    Quote from alexroyce

Well i thought he meant that humans would just be in a huge sprawling land of zombies and they had to survive.. One youre dead, you gotta restart your character. That would be cool.

This is exactly the world the players will be dropped into. The city you're in (about 20x20 blocks big) will be rife with zombie infestation and different ways to get from place to place. You'll never start out together in a group and will have to find one another across the sprawling undead wasteland.

    Quote from Dark

Dont be to sudden on this, Until u play NMRiH.

Reason other zombie fps's dont make it right is mainly becuase of cheap software or the games just are not put into a realistic stand point.

Besides that, I'd like u to tell me how many u have played, becuase there are very few if any, and if there are any they are so low budget, of course they will be bad. So, we plan to change this!

But then again some people dont like fps zombie games. I accually prefer Resident Evil 4 style playing the best.

    Good Luck with your MMO

Thanks for the well-wishing. Good luck in your venture as well!

As for FPS vs 3rd person. I honestly think that 3rd person captures the survival horror element much better, simply because of the psychological aspect of it. When you see your character you notice that you're just a normal person, and further more it's harder to imagine yourself as a chaingun toting badass. It's much easier to disconnect from the game when you're just a set of hands and a gun. Also I think there's a certain element of panic when you get attacked in 3rd person that you just don't get in 1st.

Most survival horror games that I've played and enjoyed have been 3rd person (Res. Evil series, Silent Hill, and Fatal Frame) and other games that I've enjoyed the sandbox elements of have been in 3rd as well (GTA series). For survival horror I think you also need an element of roleplaying added in there to ensure the need to keep your character alive - that time invested in them, changing them and helping them along won't be so wasted or zip you back to respawn.

That's just my take on it though.

Hi there folks. It's your kindly neighborhood Postman. I'm here in search of a modeller. I need him or her to help us out on a pet project of mine that's in full development for the PC that will be a limited MMO involving zombies in a large city (think GTA size). It's low-poly and involvement is for fun purposes. We're a condensed but largely professional group who are seeking to create a value title in the MMO field.

The game is of yet untitled, but full work with the Torque engine and written docs - as well as some preliminary artwork by yours truly - are underway and it's looking to shape up into quite the engaging and robust design.

    Currently we're looking for:

Player modelers who won't mind the odd prop model either.

    - Job will require the complex creation of low-poly but robust models that will be able to swap clothing and items (almost all items you have in game will be visible on the body in some form, and you can add "armor" in the form of leather jackets or bulletproof vests, etc).

If you're interested please send me an email at [email protected] or contact me via AIM at "PunkPosteh"

Cheers, and I look forward to any responses from any of you!

Though it didnt start with RNA as it says, but you have to wait a couple of years, I think, before they got that tricky bit more sorted out.

Sure, if they in church everytime they say something about man being made by god from dust on the ground with god breathing life into him by the nostrils also mentions the theory put forward by Darwin on how god instrumented mans creation, and that the bible is more of a spiritual guide and not to be taken litterally.

All sarcasm aside though, do you seriously think it has a place in a science classroom?

    Quote from Kosmo

My theory is that if god told you the absolute truth about everything, you wouldn’t be human anymore you’d be god.

And what god would tell you wouldn’t even remotely resemble anything you’d ever or any human ever had or would ever had dreamt of, little less rationally thought about.

Even when I respect people who are smarter than me, I wouldn't go so far as calling them gods, even with vast knowledge the thing that makes us humans remain, error, just plain simple humane error. And as far as my view of god goes, he'd be still all powerful and divine being. Something man is not even with his gained vast knowledge.

    Quote from mawibse

Yes, "don’t look far..“ seems like a very good saying when talking about the universe expanding and black holes....

And according to you, until we discover the truth about black holes and then, holy cow, the explanation of everything was there!!

Well I don’t think so, it’s just another opened door revealing hundreds of closed ones.

As an answer to both of these, I just have to say, that without studying that apple, we wouldn't haven't found those atoms and what not, and without studying space we wouldn't have found black holes. I'll admit that just by studying black holes we won't find out everything, but you'll have to understand that there is no such thing as absolute knowledge, anything we study gives us more questions than answers, and that is the way humans work. But studying black holes will get us closer to the answers about universe, and I believe that they will hole the key to even bigger questions that we don't even know yet.

Quick question Mawibse. Do you think that Intelligent Design has any place in the science classroom given that it is not scientific, what-so-ever?

yay for the government trying to parent your children cause they dont think you can do it yourself. Here is an idea, you can only procreate when you a.) take a class on parenting or 2.) Have an IQ above 42.

You forget that today's parents ("Safety moms" and "Nascar Dads" - and curiously enough usually red-staters) can't parent their kids for shit. They'd much rather let a daycare, television, dvd, or videogame entertain their kid for a good 2 hours so that they can relax or otherwise neglect their child.

All it takes it attention and spending time with your kids. Sure with a household with two working parents that can sometimes be difficult, but you can't get pissed off at your electronic babysitter if she lets your brats hear a cuss word. Get off your collective lazy asses and be responsible parents.
