great
cant wait to hear more about the story. kinda funny that io seems to be able to easily sell their licenses where as so many other games fail to get a decent deal.
get some nicer lighting in there

im half way through the book now (usually too tired to read after work) and its got some really (really) good advices in there. you might be repeating yourself a bit much in the book but it definitely shows your points though. i wasnt too sure about the excaggerating bit. it really depends on the type of game and style you are shooting for. in any case its still better to excaggerate than not going far enough.
this book should be in every leveldesigners (amateur and professional) bookshelf.

nice to see mapcorians united tho! ![]()
interesting. get some fancier wall supports. try out new shapes for the architecture. ![]()
ah gotta love the prey assets. ![]()
nice work teddy.. maybe add some fake shadow into the mouth? you could probably go even darker around the eyes and more purple. add more diseased skin tones. you could probably push the eyes a bit more as well. bloodshot eyes would look cool? the pupils wouldnt just disappear. they wouldve gone upwards so you could add more redish or purple veins towards the bottom.
i like the photosourced look tho. nice work!
nice start.
you could:
-make the main entrance more interesting, like adding windows to the side, frame it with nice architectual bits
-add more wooden trims (break up the big plaster shapes with some wooden beams for example)
-add a small bevel to the ceiling supports
-up the contrast in lighting
-smaller lightmap scale on the bits where spotlights are shining (over the door for example) to get sharper edges
-add some decals here and there
-signs
lots more.. dig up some reference pictures to get inspired
looks like the specmap is too bright?
Quote from killertomatojust imagine what MONSTERmachine this would demand to run smoothly..
