depending on the polycount i'd probably use stripmodeling. this way you can easily shape the silhouette and make sure it looks right before you start filling the spaces in between.

my thoughts are: hammer is rubbish because..
- no custom hotkeys are supported
- it has bad multimonitor support
- it uses ancient texturing techniques
- no lighting preview
- 3d viewport editing is not advanced enough
- grouping could be made more straight forward
there's plenty of other stuff but these are the main points why hammer sux.
additionally the workflow of getting assets ingame is pretty horrible and a huge waste of time (even with all the community tools available by now)
BUT as there is no other way around i'd still use it just because of the pretty results the source engine is able to put out.

NO WAY THIS IS HL1 !!!

you make merkaba look bad
(j/k)seriously tho this kicks ass!

thx for sharing.. had them bookmarked already tho

yeah this is definitely worth a spotlight!

this is really impressive work, merkaba. youre definitely not a nobody. i've admired your work on ns_hera already which was my favorite map in NS along with ns_bast by relic25. i love your use of shapes and creative use of the ns texture set. visually its probably as good as a hl1 engine based map can ever get. i just love what you can beat out of that old piece of code
i wondered what ever happened to you after ns. i didnt follow ns any longer after hl2 was released so i had no idea you continued working on it.i wonder what your skills would do to a source engine based game
you should give it a shot!edit: btw welcome to mapcore. hope youre gonna stick around!

they better not go overboard with bloom like so many titles these days

countdowns ftw
i wonder what the setting is gonna be and how different the grafics are to the previous games -
the grafics arent actually too hot. i mean nothing revolutionary. the dof hides most of it anyway. the animations are nice and fluid but it is a (most likely mocapped) cinematic anyway.
cant wait to see more or even actual gameplay scenes. it certainly looks promising

awesome. this looks better than a lot of fullprice games. i second the comments on the flat looking hole and it seems like the spotlights there arent really doing much

actually no, but if your screenshots are so heavily WIP then why do you post them?
relax.. the point in posting wip is to get feedback and not bashing
i think its got potential. it doesnt look too exciting atm, some textures look rather poor and lighting needs to be tweaked. but it certainly already catches that imposing historical museum look.im curious if you are gonna texture the skeletons properly or if they are going to keep this generic texturing.
hope to see new screenshots soon
