I'm very new to Hammer Editor, specifically for making CS:GO maps. I'm trying to make a map for the Arms Race/Gun Game gamemode.
My problem is that I can't create more than 1 spawn point for each team and I'm not sure why. I tested the map in CS:GO and I can't add bots to either team, no matter what console commands I do in-game such as mp_limitteams 30 and such. And I have multiple spawn points for each team set in the Hammer Editor file.
I attached the .vmf if anyone wants to help me out. Thanks a lot! =)
Seems like you're using the wrong spawn point entities. From VDC:
QuoteFor any map to function properly, you need to place spawnpoint entities in the game world. The info_armsrace_terrorist and info_armsrace_counterterrorist entities are used to mark where players spawn. You want at least 32 total player spawns for the majority of servers to run your map.
Since Arms Race maps use deathmatch-style spawn mechanics, the placement of spawn points doesn't matter much; however, to keep your map simple and easy to understand, you'll probably want to cluster the spawn points together in areas, usually one for each team. Also, make sure to correctly enable the arms race mode ingame:
QuoteArms Race is a server-side setting toggled by setting the "game_type" command to 1. To properly test your Arms Race map, include "+game_type=1" in the launch options before compiling and running the map.

The triangle carpet definately needs changing. Either a new pattern, or maybe reducing the contrast of the colors would do the trick too.
Awesome work overall! It really feels like a proper gigantic cruise ship now

Absolutely georgous! Love the little ruin in the background at CT spawn

I'm going to scotland for holidays the next 2 weeks, so I will take a lot of pictures to improve our visuals and textures

Not that it wasn't already pretty before, but your trip to Scotland definately paid off!
Map looks stunning, release it already!

2 and 3 are both nice, although I prefer 3. I'd go with that one

One last thing:
If you are an artist who thinks they can model a hanging dead cow (either whole, or split in two) that fits the CSGO artstyle: Hit me up!I remember some dead cow models for DoD:S, I think you can probably find a use for them
Made by INsane. Here's a link.Edit: the models are actually by pedroleum, not INsane as I posted first.

Nighttime is a lot more atmospheric for sure, but it'll need some additional lighting here and there to improve readability. For example, some proper streetlights in the second picture.
As Vaya said, a playtest might be in order

Nice skybox!
Thanks for sharing! Might give this a try some time

@Squad used these models on zoo. I don't recall anyone complaining about hostage comments from the terrorist side.
I never noticed this myself

Custom soundscape files can be packed with the bsp, not sure if the same is possible for chat lines, but who knows. Then again, not sure if it's worth the effort and the extra filesize.

For 99% of the monitors, it's 60 Hz. And high-frequency monitors don't exist on IPS monitors, IPS technology is too slow (but it has wayyyy better vertical viewing angles than TN)
Yeah, it's noticeable that the monitor needs a few seconds to "boot", or when alt-tabbing between desktop and ingame for example. My second monitor switches instantly, but the colors on it are really crappy compared to the IPS one

Thanks for shedding some light on this

If it's not specified, then it's 99% likely to be a 60Hz monitor. And yes yours is at 60 Hertz.
The refresh rate is a frequency, it determines how many frame your monitor will try to display per second. If you have a 60 Hz monitor, each frame is supposed to be displayed during 1000/60 = 16.67 ms (1000 ms in 1 second) but it does not specificaly mean that the frame will have a delay to come or not, and how long it will be. But, because 120 / 144 Hz monitor are supposed to be "gaming" monitor, the reaction time is always good enough (less than 5ms is good).
yes minutederire, you're right it could be possible but it doesn't happen. These high-frequency monitors are expensive, manufacturers don't mess with them with a bad reaction time.
My monitor has a 5 ms reaction time, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't a 60 Hz monitor, right?
Thanks for the answers so far!

Reading all this made me wonder what refresh rate my monitor has. It's not on the box though and I can't find it on the internet (I have a Iiyama XB2779QS monitor).
Is there a relation between refresh rate (Hz) and reaction time (ms)? -
Congratulations, to both of you!
Hope the mother is okay as well! -

This is awesome, congrats man

Have fun building it
I had it build in the shop actually. Normally I'd do it myself, but just not this time

Congratz! Played some GTA5 on PS4 at a friend's place yesterday. Looked really amazing (I'm sure his ginourmous TV helped)!
