You can decompile a model using Crowbar, but the decompiled file can not be opened in Hammer (the file format is for 3DSMax and maybe other packages too).

I think in your case, given that you lost the original vmf, there's not much to do except to rebuild the whole thing in Hammer, I'm afraid.

Yeah, I think Na'Vi and Luminosity could go either way. And so far Luminosity has been pretty consistent proving me wrong in my picks

Agreed about the upsets too. I don't always choose the logical team in the picks either (like the Titan win over NiP on the first day, although that same pick didn't quite work out yesterday :( ).

    No, it doesn't.

You need to buy the team's or player's stickers you're voting for. Don't need to buy them again each time you choosing them in your picks though, you need only one of it.

Add a func_clip_vphysics to prevent the prop_physics_multiplayer from swinging too far.

What sort of thing do you want for your monitors? 144Hz on both is probably a little overkill right now as the main benefit of it is for gaming. I personally have a fast TN 144Hz 1080p gaming screen and a beautifully crisp fantastic IPS 60Hz 1200p multimedia screen.

Similar setup here. I have a 2560*1440 IPS for multimedia stuff and recently replaced my second monitor (which died after having served almost a decade iirc) with a 144Hz gaming monitor. Since the IPS is set as the primary monitor (because of the bigger resolution), games are also loaded on that monitor. Is there any way to choose what kind of software is loaded on the primary/secondary monitor?

@Skybex Two 144Hz gaming monitors seems abundant. I'd instead replace one of them with a ISP monitor if it's within your budget. The quality of it is superb.

For this level, I'm trying to purely map "tones", until I'm ready to add in actual textures. The tones allow me to control for contrast without being overwhelmed by the need to balance specific colors within a scene. This also allows me to understand the types of props I need in an area without being biased by color preferences beforehand. This means I'm building a lot of geometry in place of meshes, for the time being, and the meshes will be added later by a talented artist named Dimitri, recommended by none other than Kikette

Since the map is nearing completetion, I was wondering the other day how this has turned out as a workprocess for you. Did you plan this approach specificly for this map, since it's a bright place with lots of (shades of) white? If so, are you planning on sticking to this process for future projects?

So I finally got it solved after also getting help from someone on Csmapmaker reddit Vaya  jackophant . I had my skybox as one whole brush on top of the map( insert laziness reason) so he recommended I try remaking the skybox but as individual brushes as the skybox instead of one giant one. So I took time to do that when I got home today and it is now working! Thank you for all the input and time guys!

    Quote from jackophant

I'm glad your problem is sorted, and now I know skybox can't overhang in the void!

Actually, that's how I often make the top sky brush. So usually that should work just fine, but good to know it can potentially cause issues when making an overview :)

I agree some of the missions could use some work, but in the end this discussion seems to usually boil down to the difference between competitive and casual players. I think it's only fair if there's a challenge for both casual and competitive players and everything in between. Someone on Reddit suggested something along the lines of 3 options for each mission: casual style, competitive style and I don't remember the 3rd one :P Anyway, they each could have their own reward XP or whatever and players could choose right on the spot what type they'd be up to.

I think I would like something like that, although it'd be a lot more work for Valve to do for each Operation ... unless off course the community could do some of the work? ;)

    In other news, there's a CS:GO update.

In a nutshell: Bloodhound came to an end, but more importantly, the Zeus was nerfed!

I honestly do agree with that approach entirely and wish I had used it in hindsight, getting a rough layout out and all that before doing anything else but the scene itself had started just from attempting to recreate a reference photo and over that period of time I was inspired again to create a defuse map around that theme, preferably building off of what already exists.

It looks pretty nice so far. Would love to see this turn into a fully functional csgo map I do agree with some of the points @Klems brought up, about the rocks and the barrels.

Don't be encouraged by the "wrong" approach you used until now. While certainly not ideal, it doesn't mean this couldn't turn into something good!

    Can you post an overview?
