indeed RD, ice has lumps and stuff on it, get normal maps in there, with a gloss effect, man, when those guns fire off, they'll glow on the reflections, look really nice.

i'll make the normal maps if you need em
-
just put a gloss map with a shine on it, it'll look like ice then...
make sure you use normals on the bumps of the ice (can you use normal maps on world textures in source engine?)...
make it high detailed, concave walls, spikes of ice in the walls (but make an invisible clip plane so the player can't walk into them) etc....
take advantage of the nice new engine, in the center of the map put a big Mapcore sign on the floor, and then put a picture of gabe eating a kitty or something....

isn't the bomb site a tad bit close to the terrorist spawn?

don't get me wrong, i liked vampire slayer, it was incredibly original, and i could play it all night leaping forward after silly humans.
i guess the reason why i'm so mad is because i offered to help them with models (when i sucked major dick anus) and they declined lol.

Quote from curman
Nice stuff. Also Vampire-Slayer mod was in some German magazine recently >.>

lol...why'd you want to put vampire slayer in a magazine....

list of textures i need, i'll be updating this list every now and then...
if you gusy know where i can get tileable textures in 1024x1024 format let me know...
Dark Brown Wood
Light Brown Wood
Red Wood
White Stone
Beige Stone
Brown Stone
Light Brown Stone
Dark Brown Stone
Gray Stone
Red Stone
Red Metal
Blue Metal
Red Brick
Light Tan Plaster
Light Tan Canvas
Light Gray Stone
Dark Gray Stone
Really Dark Gray Stone
Gray Limestone
these ones below need some texture detail, they will be used for nature spots, like the side of a cliff, dirt paths, etc.
Light Dirt
Dark Dirt
Dark Brown Rock
Light Brown Rock
Tree Bark
I will make the normal maps and make each texture come to life with specific detail, i really need some help with textures, because *trust me* when i say, if i make the textures the level will look like crap. unfortunetely the orignal Kakariko Village doesn't require much detail to be remade, as there is no detailed landmarks (no statues etc.) but i'm going to be adding in my own details like, patterns on trims, etc.

quake 1
mafia
final fantasy 8

hey, i need a texture artist to generate high quality generic textures for me (flat metal, wood, stone, brick, no highlighting, or shadowing, just base, regular textures) for my Kakariko Map.
i would ask klevestav but he is busy in the military soooooos, if any of you guys got any skill, or know of someone, all i need is a handful of textures made for my map.
proper credit and links will be givin in map credits.

nice work slicky..
i've noticed a few people getting jobs all over the place, mainly us "internet guys"... i read somewhere that only 25% of game developers are big on creating names for themselves on the internet, mainly us modders, or people big in communities like this, gamedesign.net, etc.
a lot of game places only care about how good your art skill is, and in the interviews they'll test just how much you really know about game dev.
the only program i have ever been trained in was adobe illustrator at a local college (now i know every corner of that joke of a program). i'm completely self-trained in everything else, and i know more about game development then a lot of college grads (i had to train 3 grads from game dev in modern technology with btu games).
a degree can only say really, you where lucky enough to have the money to go to college and get a degree, it doesn't necessarily brand you with the experience nor the talent...
some of us just don't have the money to go to college, thats why i'm working on building my portfolio right now, and i'm trying to finish what i start...because i'm tired of being dirt poor my entire life, and i have a talent, so i plan on using it.
btw clan killer what is that animation in your sig?
-
lol...you guys are wrong....
but right at the same time...
if you are going to be the lead of a mod team, you really got to either be very strong in art skills, or programming skills. Most mod teams where the leader "has an idea" and has no idea about the art or programming side of things, usually turn up flap jack crap, no one will pay attention to your mod, and most likeley, you'll recruit complete newbies, who have no artistic talent at all, and your mod will look like a joke, and you'll never be able to use it on your resume or portfolio.
If you have an idea that would be great, contact an awesome artist, see if he likes the idea, then maybe kick it off from there with him being co-leader, but if you can't find someone with awesome art talent, don't even bother.
most people, especially programmers, will only join a mod team if they see awesome artwork being done for it (and i hate to say this, but a few weapon models won't make the cut)
also, no one wants to play another modern-warfare game, make something fun, like goatse hunter, or something....

well, the problem with the interriors is that they don't match the size of the exterriors, well some buidlings at least, like, the windmill maybe does, but the game shop inside the town doesn't match the size of the building at all, the other buildings guts do match them however.
there is a lot of detail inside those buildings tho because they use high polygon rendering, it would take me a while to match them.
-
yes, max or maya now.
whats so funny ... ???

update
i see some errors i need to fix (pole missing in wings of windmill fan)
some polygon errors on terrain
ignore the houses, they are just there for testing purposes and are nothing final. one of the houses isn't even on the ground.

you can't really see from this far up, but there is lots of detail on the terrain, small bumps and lumps everywhere.
