    Nice mate

You know if it is "level design" using like 3dmax or an actual LD program?

The maps look pretty good, but I can't stand a lot of the weapon models and firing stuff.

Something about the gameplay bugs me quite a bit, maybe it is feedback from the way the guns sound and

how accurate / powerful they are, but it just feels bad. Maybe that's what hundreds of hours of BiA will do to you.

Ironsights on the weapons feels pretty odd also, maybe it's a combination of slow movement speed and server

lag or something. Not having ironsights on weapons that aren't rifles put me off a bit too.

The fire looks so-so personnaly I'm a sucker for fire like in Call Of Duty games. The cloud looks cool and all but so did they in Call of Duty: UO too Lets just hope we get to use them, since most FPS is on the ground.

Well don't confuse technology with art.

CoD has some amazing particle textures, I bet if this Crytek demo was on par with those it would knock your socks off.

Hehe, I picked up Morrowind when my friend who used to work at Bethsoft, said "You want a job at Bethsoft as level artist, learn the editor quick!" I think I played it for 10 mins before I got bored, the first town was terrible. Editor was confusing as hell too! I always seem to go back to the unreal editor

That was my first impression too, minus thinking it looked terrible. I quit playing after an hour or two and never played until about 6 months later then I was addicted like crack. I had scoured the whole game and stored all my weapons and armor and things in a house that was so full it killed my computer with the amount of polygons / shader effects going on. The expansions are equally as good.

As Insane said, it's not a game you can really jump into, there's lots of reading and stuff you have to do to get places which makes it really awesome at times.

  • You will play this HL2 single-player expansion.

Awesome stuff, great level design in terms of visuals, atmosphere, and item placement.

It really was a treat to play this one. And the new music track was really cool.

One thing that bothered me was the sense of direction was often absent, I didn't really know where to go at all times,

which turned into a wander-fest until I found something had changed. Maybe some objective in the text that had a

corresponding sign on the wall or unique object near that area would help a lot. Sort of the same happened when I got

underground and the combine were attacking... their waves were so sparse I was just wandering around thinking I was

supposed to find something. It has been brought up about the text being a bad presentation method, I agree half way.

Maybe if there was a voiceover to go along with it... because I don't always want to read when pretty things are in front of me

Great work though, can't wait for more.
