Yeah, I know how to read. What was wrong with what I said? It was pure gameplay, not scripted. It could happen, or not.

Duuude, thats awful. English should always be an option in these localized games, but I'm guessing that its fairly common in Germany to only have the German stuff present.

Disc space is always a concern I bet they would include multiple languages if they could fit, but by the sound of it, there's enough audio on there as it is for just one language. Too bad though, I always prefer to hear movies in their original audio.

good stuff, great atmosphere. nice use of minimal content.

when you say 41 meshes, are they entirely modular pieces? or is that mostly modular, and then the shack structure is one mesh, etc.

I had component cables for my 360 on my 24" for a few months, they gave a pretty nice picture quality. Then they appeared to crap out and give me overtones of yellow, whereas jiggling the cables was the only solution there to fix it. Later on, the cables just stopped transmitting a signal. I changed to VGA a while back (third party), and the visual quality here was great, but again I got the yellow color problem. I got tired of fidgeting with cables and went out to buy Microsoft VGA cables, and problem solved. I'd be willing to say VGA looks better than component connections on the 360 in terms of colors and sharpness. If you get VGA cables, just be sure to change your video options on your 360 to VGA and set the resolution.

As for component cables for the Wii on the 24", there's a pretty big difference. You won't notice too much from a simple game like Wii Sports, but the difference on Zelda is huge. No more swimmy visuals and a much clearer picture. Monitors seem to reveal a lot more problems with picture than a tv, and the component cables help out a lot.

What makes Prey's portals impressive isnt that they're portals, but that you see whats through the portal, you didnt do that in Unreal (Or anything before Prey afaik).

What? Pretty sure you could do that in Unreal. I remember looking through them and plotting when to attack, and firing rockets through them, etc. Valve bought Nuclear Monkey Software (people from DigiPen school), who made Narbacular Drop, which in turn, Portal was born. (If I'm not mistaken)

Edit: Water beat me to it

The video originally posted is pretty cool, especially for the time. When he mentioned the specs being fairly high end, that seems to be quite a while ago.

The level design and atmosphere in this one is great. There was a very cool effect in that tall room where a huge gun sound happened every few seconds and the view dimmed black a little (although almost too much). Very cool though, a more detailed and atmospheric version of Combine.
