Jesus, those screens are amazing. Any time someone makes assets for use beyond the main game universe (ie; backstory) that is a huge ++. I don't want to watch the video because I figure I will be playing soon enough and want to see it at full res. I haven't played more than two hours of the first game many years ago, but I bought the MGS Essentials when it came out a month or so ago. The soundtracks are also amazing. I've got a lot of catching up to do...

I think we need some new super heroes, because by the speed Hollywood is plowing through them, we will run out of material very soon!
Some people are looking in other areas.

The news is much more exciting hearing it come from iD, and not from some other studio. Should be cool, looking forward to seeing their vision of Hell on Earth

Quote from curmanBatman Begins was amazing though. Once a franchise is destroyed (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin), just make a prequel that makes it awesome again! that's kind of a stupid link. some guy made that trailer himself, not warner brothers. hell i could take clips from stewart little and have them match a trailer like the dark knight. what was he trying to say? warner bothers copied his pseudo homemade trailer?
Take it easy, I never said that, and he never said that. If you read the comments, you will see that the trailer on the top is NOT the original, but one that he cut to match up. The point is, it's pretty neat.

Speaking of which - does anyone else get the feeling we have seen all this before?

The control scheme sounds really interesting also. Something about one button is about moving up, and another is moving down, and you just use the two analog sticks to move/look around. Everything else is based on your momentum at the time, and whether you want to go up or down.

Saw some stuff linked off Joystiq. Looks pretty nice!

Haven't played one since Sands of Time (which was fairly brilliant), but can't wait to see the new art direction.

UT3 rips off War of the Worlds in one of the cutscenes. It is a overhead shot of several city blocks with the tripods walking down the streets and zapping shit with their weapons. Pretty sure that shot is "majorly inspired" by the same exact one in War of the Worlds.

I read a few weeks ago or so that the color was more vibrant on the 360 version?I pre-ordered a copy for my 360 what a year ago? Before it was pushed back massively and was supposed to come out 2007. I've since bought a PS3 and pre-ordered the special edition for it and so...ya. Double GTA4 fun time extravaganza!
I think the 360 does some tweaks to every game that make the colors more vibrant.

I was talking UI as more of the main menu, and I guess everything in general.
I beat Crysis before GTA4 stomped all over me, awesome game. Did run into quite a few bugs though, the biggest one being my sound stopped working on the
QuoteZero G level, and I thought it was just some kind of "no sound in space" theory.
After I died, quit, and reloaded the game it came back, but I was mostly through it already. The other one being physics objects were always getting stuck and endlessly banging into something making a bunch of noise, even happened during a few cinematics. That being said, everything visual and sound wise about the game was great. Such amazing character models. The second 2/3 of the game or so were great, where you felt more part of a larger battle.

So what's it gonna be, folks. GTA4 on 360 or PS3? Right now I'm thinking 360 because I know a lot more people on live than on PS network, and the prospect of good DLC. PS3 would be an option if it had better framerate or visuals, but nothing has been said yet.

Just secured me a WAR preorder box
Playing a bunch of UT3 lately! Great game
Beh, just beat the SP campaign today, thought it was pretty much garbage. The worst UI I have seen in several years. I know one shouldn't base a game like that off the bot play, but I can't be arsed to go online with it. The level of detail in the environments mixed with the style of gameplay do not suit each other well, creating a lot of confusion or difficulty to see.
Got to finish up Crysis before GTA4 destroys all my gaming plans. :E

I can't wait to play this murder simulator. Little snippets here and there really are making it hard to wait :E

Looks great, nice work.

Wasn't that impressive anyways. It was all environment shots with pretty bad lighting, no characters, etc. The biggest improvement was probably the shadows coming through the leaves on all the foliage. With some tweaks to the INI's and a few mods you'd have a far better looking Oblivion than this, and you'd be able to play it too

-
the detailing looks fine, some more light and shadow contrast would certainly help the scene feel less flat. really cool stuff though, great style.

This was on the shacknews replay couch a while back, had a good old lol while watching it. Can't imagine playing it...

Yeah, that was some of the best tension building in some time that I have played. It was also scary because I was going around with my flashlight off so I wouldn't be seen, all the while you are hearing the terrifying noise. *Clicks weapon firing to full auto mode* Although I think half the time I was walking around with my rocket launcher out waiting to blast the first son of a bitch to cross my sights
