    that will be without doubt the best game of the year

    i am telling you the demo was awsome... they showed some land battle that you were controlling on one side of the world and then you could come over to some ocean on the otherside of the world and telling your ships and subs to be attacking something else, the game looked good and the idea seem to play well in the demo.

    it's usually not even out of some sincere design to protect the "team." It's usually just the asshole leader wanting to retain all rights and try to sell it and keep all the money.Oh, and unless a lawyer delivers you an NDA, anything they want you to agree to over the web has no legal standing, so really it's just bullshit in the end.

    While some of what you say is true; in that MODs do not need NDAs as most of the content they have is already pretty much owned by the original game creator anyway. But I will not say that non-commercial products do not need NDAs as there is a need for internal projects or projects that could have sensitive data to be protected. While there is some merit to some projects who use modding as a tool for prototyping their ideas and those should be protected under NDAs. I do here again agree that there is just no need for mods having any sort of NDA.

    Now as far as your comments in regards to agreements on the net not holding up as legally binding contracts, your are just wrong there. We have seen many cases in the court of law; that have allowed conversation on the internet to be admissible as evidence. E-mail conversation are just as usable as Phone conversation or face-to-face conversation. Along with that in many small claims court verbal agreements are upheld as legally binding contracts and the supreme court has stated in the US that internet conversations are just as admissible as verbal ones; which means that in many cases agreements on the internet could be held as a legally binding contract. While this is only true of course if your over the age of 18 or under the age of 18 and have parental consent(which in the case of a NDA a parent signing on your behalf). Just thought I would throw that in there.

    Hmmm I might buy this for the singleplay story since I got 1 & 2,but for the gameplay I bet my money on Supreme Commander.

    Chris taylor gave a nice demo of supreme commander at E3 and it looks hot... The idea of the game is cool and the whole global mass scale thing is rather nifty. I do bet that it will do well among some of the more hardcore RTS players. as far as the game in this topic there is nothing they can do to salvage the Tiberium Suns Storyline NOTHING.

    I really hope this game is nothing like the other Tiberium universe games because they all sucked like hardcore. What I don't get is how long is EA going to milk the C & C generals engine. its like they take the same engine and use it for 5 different games because they lack any skill to actually make anything themselves. While I will agree C & C generals was a good game and one of the few RTS games that is worth playing, but I feel that they need to make the move foreward and stop re-hacking the same old stuff they have been re-packing for years now. BOOO to EA

    yeah but the fun ! and the excitement!! ^^

    it was fun five years ago...each passing year it gets to be more of a pain in the ass, whether you're in meetings, working a booth, walking the floor or whatever.

    seems like each year the overall feel of the products seems less and less exciting. but that does make a good product you see a gem!

    the big deal last year was how disspointing as a whole the 360 lineup looked. Still, it was a transition year as this one is too so don't put much stock in that analysis.

    I'm sure Gearbox is already on the slate for some best in show nominations based on the graphics quality alone for HH.

    GBX is going to own us we got nothing on BIA3

    If you got starcraft 2 to show i'll bow down in shock.

    No SC2 and no Starcraft:Ghost Either

    We unfortunately haven't had any choice regarding what language we want write in. VB.NET 2003 is what they got at our school at what our teacher knows, so we are limited to that.I have tried a bit of everything including c++, java, php, asp, ti-basic, actionscript and dos/bat. In Java I have made some small programs and games, but I haven't used that language for some years now. The only c++ I have done is small parts of the SoW1 and SoW2 code.

    I considered having xml localization files but that would probably be out of the project scope.

    well give me the source and I will make the localization files

    is this a .net 2.0 application ? you can get ride of that security stuff in the properties of the project.

    edit: I see this is a 1.1 application I would recommend upgrading it to a 2.0 application. try out VB.net Express which is free and I recommend that all of you who have never tried programming in VB.net or c# to grab it and try it out.

    great...now try writing in a real programming language.

    Even though I hate vb.net I will have to defend zacker here in that vb.net is a powerful language when it comes to .net programming and in many cases can be just if not more efficient that something like c++ on the windows platform.

    We see many good things come out of vb.net for example a good chunk of xbox live for the xbox 360 was written in vb.net/c# and we are seeing more and more on the graphics front with managed DX and looking forward to that we are seeing that these languages such as vb.net are starting to meet the needs of even the more seasoned programmer.

    I would like to give you an example 

    lets take a simple windows application written in vb.net:

    public Class Form1 inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form

    Private Sub InitializeComponent()

    End sub

    End Class

    For the most part this is all that’s needed for a windows application in vb.net now lets goto a c++ application and all we want to do is create a window with our application and this is a full on c++ app none of that CLR Visual c++ stuff.

    C++:

    #include “windows.h”

    LRESULT APIENTRY WndProc(HWD hwnd,UNIT msg,WPARAM wParam,LPARAM lparam);

    Int APIENTRY WinMain(HINSTANCE hInst,HINSTANCE hPrev,LPSTR cmdline,int cmdshow)

    {

    HWND hwnd;

    WNDCLASS wc;

    Wc.lpfnWndProc = (WNDPROC)WndProc;

    wc.lpszClassName = "TheWindowClass";

    RegisterClass(&wc);

    hwnd = CreateWindow("TheWindowClass","Title",WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW,0,0,640,480,0,0,hInst,0);

    ShowWindow(hwnd,SW_SHOW);

    UpdateWindow(hwnd);

    Return 0;

    }

    Now I am sure you can see here the code involved is quite larger for doing something so very straight forward as creating a window. So to say that vb.net is not a real programming language just shows how ignorant you are in your programming. I do not know of many programmers today that would say well I am going to write this code in c++ over vb.net/c# on the windows platform.

    If this is actually worth the $15 to purchase it I will be completely caught off guard and utterly surprised. Everything I've seen for it looks like unmitigated crap.Edit1: If it still has HL2 noises in it (like in the trailer) I'll laugh myself hoarse, too.

    I am glad to see someone agree's with me, that not everything on source looks good and plays well.
