Well, I can say I have been there during it all... From the day it was created to the point in which is still stands now... Been there through the troubled times, been there through the internal battles of who should control what and why... Was there when Anarchy gave the site to Brew... Matter in fact I was on the phone with brew when that happen as we called anarchy names LOL while we though we where on hold we can never say for sure LOL. It has changed a lot since its "core" days. There is a lot less politics then there use to be and a lot less productivity on the mappping side. but overall its still mapcore

As far as the FPS drop issues... We think it could be related to some of the physics which the crane... That or some of the props that are there and being used but For the most part its not that major... I have a pretty shitty vid card and I never notced any FPS drops that where so bad that it did not allow for the map to be played...

    Quote from OL

i havnt played it, but from the shots it looks pretty barren... like a hl1 map almost. you should liven it up a little with some machinery maybe, scaffolding, construction site stuff.

All that stuff is there, you just had to find something dumb to bitch about because you know its a good looking map. All stuff is in the map, There are many things you can toss around, there is scaffolding, but there are not a lot of HL2 props that relate to that stuff unless you want giant piles of head crabs on the ground... On top of that where do the rules state the map has to look or have crap other then textures from or in HL 2 ??

The map is good, abit dark from me, but the latest version of the map which I just got done running around has come a long way from what it started as. The map is the win, but what ferret is going to do will be BETTER and pwn you all MUAHUAHUAHUAHUAHAUHAUHAHU

I would have to agree with Fletch. The man has been in the industry and seen the internal workings of the process of getting into that industry. I think one of the core issues of Mod making is just what has been said here; is that by being in some mod you can get into the industry which is not always the case. You place DoD as an example but I will tell you they went through almost 4 different team changes. There main guy changed and I think there is only maybe 1 or 2 people from the original team there now. The reality is you have to work hard to get anywhere in this industry and to be honest not a lot of people get there.

It’s brutal and has no remorse for those who are not willing to work hard at what they do. I am sure those who are involved in the industry on this very forum will tell you that it was no walk in the park on them getting there jobs today.

Hmm... The mexican American war hmmm... I seem to think there was a little more to that story then you remeber. Lets go back in history to around oh.... lets say around 1833 when General Santa Anna was elected president of the Republic of Mexico, during this time period both American and Mexicans lived in what is modern day texas, peacefully i might add. Then in 1836 President Anna changed the republics consttitution to allow more control over the mexican provinces, because of that the liberal Americans and Mexicans revolted in what we know as the battle of the Alamo. They where defeated by Preisdent Santa Anna, but later that year Anna was defeated at San Jacinto, where he was captured and signed a treaty stating Texas's independance, as the years continued onward Mexico did not reconginize the treaty signed by Santa Anna. Then in 1846 Texas was declared as part of the United States of America.

Then in April of 1846 US Soldiers entered the disputed area and where attacked by mexican soldiers, and in the following month the US declared war on Mexico and from that we get the moden boundries of the US in the souther part of the US from texas westwerd...

Now how does this play into Fletch's little story well it doesn't Mexicans revolted against Mexico as much as the US did in 1836 So to say that we are heartless bastards who do not care about anything is just WRONG. The US never went in there and trampled on them or ruined there culture. Matter infact a lot of that culture is still around in southern Texas. So Those people who say we need to give back to them... That's just not true.

I would like to say that this man is pretty right wing. I think he will have a hard time in the senate and a lot of the republican groups within the senate do not like how right this man is. The leadership fears that he may over extend the party and what they believe in. I guess we will see what happens

Now that the elections are over for some, and we are finally starting to see the future of how our country may to turn. I thought it would be nice to take a look at some of our new elected officials. I think it’s important that the people of America see who they are supporting

So with that everyday I will bring you some information on one newly elected official

One of the big names in Washington right now is a newly elected Senator from Oklahoma. Sen. Tom Coburn®. Served as a member of the house for several years and now has made a successful bid for the Senate. Coburn is as what most people would consider "Far Right".

He believes that there should be a constitutional ban on Abortions and would have no issues paving the way for a new Supreme Court justice who support banning abortions. Voted YES two times in congress for partial birth abortions and Vote YES twice on a law to make it illegal to transport people who are getting abortions... You know sort of like a law that’s says it’s not legal to shoot dear when they are going to and from feeding... HMMM.

On top of that Coburn Supported 3 separate bills to ban gay adoptions, but also believes that Stem Cell research should be legal, and flag burning should be against the law (which it is not BTW). Also supports and has voted for a constitutional amendment to support School Prayer, by support being bring it back into schools.

His thoughts on old people and Medicare are right along party lines. He voted NO on Prescription Drug Coverage under Medicare, along with that would like to ban Asst Suicide (which is legal in my state: P)

My Final Thoughts (not that anyone cares):

Tom Coburn is my opinion is a right wing nutcase, but in all fairness he seems to slide along party lines and I am sure by his own words he will make an impact in the US senate... Fighting for the abridgement of gay rights, Prescription dugs... along with moving forward with plans to ban abortions bring back school prayer. So to leave you with a quote from the new senator while he was on the campaign trail,

"Lesbianism is so rampant in some of the schools in southeast Oklahoma that they'll only let one girl go to the bathroom. Now think about it. Think about that issue. How is it that that's happened to us?" --Rep. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.)

If you would like more information on Tom Coburn you can visit his site at http://www.coburnforsenate.com/

I can say here where they have a large hispanic population... so much so that I am the minority in my town. The one thing that they really mess up here is the welfare system. The Oregon welfare system gets polluted by these groups and then they over extend themselves and cannot serve those who need it. Something needs to be done and I don't think making them legal will help any. Then again whats with the Hispanic group the reason this bid was shot down before was because other groups like the cubans felt left out and bush was getting critized by people within his own party and other political leaders to drop the idea.

    Send THEM BACK!!

I think making the ice totaly transparent would be just dumb, but what I think would be intresting is if we made it semi-transparent as to where we could put stuff in it. Like the mapcore logo, just random frozen stuff and then throw the shaders on top of that and you have some cool looking stuff
