what? man, texture lighting was one of the greatest features ever. Damn, now I'm pissed.

You just don't get it, do you?

HL2 doesn't need texture lighting because a) the lightmaps are of a much higher quality and b) the mapper is given a lot more control over said lights.

texture lighting is pretty much outt he window now. Pretty much spotlights and omni lights. Spotlights have a lot of neat parameters to them. Texture lights just spawn a bunch of omni lights afaik.

Glad to hear it; setting up texture lights is a laborous process I could do without.

Details and other coming very soon!

    screenshots too.

Well, of course it's no achievement: that's precisely the point of apathy.

Yeah, almost forgot about Mafia. That game had the most fantastic action/thriller music piece. If only I could find somewhere to get it...

    Mafia! ftp://ftp.take2.de/extras/MainTheme.mp3

    Good man!

EDIT: This is great, but the best Mafia tune is the dramatic score that comes on whenever some action takes place. Get me that, and I'll kiss ya fucking dalmations, as John McClane would say.

It's cool that more mags are starting to do this. Can only be good for the mod scene.

No way to conjecture about that at this stage. All that stuff is usually decided on by the publisher anyway.

Will we be able to use Hammer and other in-house editors that handle the conversations etc. to create our own Bloodlines stuff?

So, Bloodlines is polished off but waiting for those Valve bastards to get their act together, and Troika are making lots of saucy techdemos with a particularly tasty new engine. I like the sound of this!

Lovely little images though, stuff like Dog picking up a car, what looks like an upgraded Manipulator unleashing blue death, just general love. One screen also shows Gordon with 200 armour.

Oh come on, Vin Diesel can't act to save his life. His character was originally going to survive in Saving Private Ryan, but after Spielberg saw him lying them in the soaking rain, pathetically delivering his lines, he let the sniper finish him off.

    True story.

96% is bang-on, it's what HL1 got in PC Gamer UK all those years ago and it's a kind of prophecy being fufilled. I honestly wouldn't expect any game, no matter how awesome, to get higher than 96-97%. Nothing is perfect.
