Looks very... crisp. As in, every texture seems to harmonise with the brushwork perfectly. Lovely!

Some pretty decent maps, although I'm unsure how powerhouse and resistance will play.

Looks like 3D-Mike got an honourable mention for delivering a stunning map that strayed a bit from the HL2 theme (thankfully!).

I nabbed it today for a great price, and I'm loving it so far.

Well done Mike, Tom and the rest of the 'GBX krew'.

The scale of STALKER does seem suitably epic. I'd rather wait a while and come up trumps, rather than getting a half-arsed product.

It's 17th in Germany as well.

According to everywhere here, it's the 18th, as games are normally released on a Friday. I'll look around tomorrow for it though, because there's usually a few cheeky vendors that release it early.

Apparently out in Europe. Canada release is on the 17th (Thursday)

Really? I haven't seen it around in the UK, and I damn well want the game.

P.S. Good to have MapCore back.

It would've been smarter to just use two different islands. Have more connectsions. But first and foremost gone to a level design and game design community for ideas and critique instead of going to hl2world who are a bunch of children who scramble over eachother to get the first suck on their mother's tit (pronounced teet).

In all seriousness, you don't have to worry about me, I'm a big boy and can take care of myself : )

Well, that's pretty fucking harsh on you and the other Troika guy/gals. Best of luck, amigo.

Well, part of me hopes this isn't true, but if it is, it's a damn shame. Bloodlines had its flaws, but it was still a brilliant game, and really showed the potential of the studio.

Have I missed something? What's going on at Troika?

  • so, a new CS:S map from valve

I would have expected more original content, instead of recycled HL2/CS:S material, but if the gameplay is special then I certainly won't mind.

Edit: OK, maybe I was a little too lenient. I'd expect MUCH better from Dave Riller, one of Valve's veteran mappers who's been around since the beginning of Half-Life 1.
