When SC2 was in beta, all my friends could play it, even if some of them had to play it on lowest, they could still have fun with it ![]()
I cant say the same for any other game I've tested with my friends the past few years. I think the last one was WoW.
Ooo we gotta play together Dux ![]()
add me as [email protected] (that goes for the rest of you too).
I think its more fun watching the finals in a good StarCraft championship, rather than the finals in soccer. (this year in particular... I actually left during half time to watch a starcraft replay and never returned to the match).
You mean like this?
The protoss here is from the Warcraft 3 community (He's from the same small town as I am as well, 1 year younger than me)
Quote from MinotauroI envy you. I was planning on buying a telescope but there's really no way to see any significant stars in Sao Paulo (too much light pollution + the weather is always cloudy)
Save up and buy a plane ticket for next summer and you can come up here and watch the stars with me ![]()
I slept outdoors last night and didnt see shit (I looked to the sky a lot, because the stars were clear and nice
)
okay wtf, youtube just took a turn for the worse....
Quote from wackoI think its pretty universal atleast those who I have talked would say TT is just a waste of a team LOL You really do not see a lot of 2v2 teams that are TT and win a lot. I mean all you needed was Zx to beat a TT team in the beg of the beta, as they had yet to nerf the crap out of roaches which where just raping T. I mean we saw numbers that showed that in most cases TT or T anything for that matter both in 1v1 and 2v2 were just getting raped.
The other issue with T atleast for a period of time, not so much now was cost for econ. In looking at numbers you would see that in order for the T to really get his econ moving for the macro game it was costing them almost double the amount of minerals compared to Z and P. This is why we saw things like build times and unit costs cut for a lot of T units during the beta.
Yeah, I definatly feel that the armor nerf for roaches was the good way to go. Especially for the protoss, who struggled really hard when going straight for Stalkers against a Z who went roaches. I dont play in high tier, so my opinion isn't that valid, but I feel that when you play TT and one goes mass marines, while the other goes mass marauders you kick some serious ass early to mid game. You struggle if you cant kill your opponents with your first push tho.
Its not a big thing, its more like something that gets brought up when someone really is a showoff when that person really hasnt accomplished anything really astonishing.
I think it only applies to day to day stuff. So if you figure out a cure to cancer, then you're safe....
at one point in the beta TT vs XX was so imbalanced because two terrans steamrolled everything with their marine+marauder semi-early rush combo. (You had to attack right before a potential tank or collosus got made, z had no chance whatever they did).
Think of it like this, we like people to be humble =)
I think that is what "janteloven" boils down to. You should never ever parade around while thinking you're the shit because everyone has flaws ![]()
marauders, at first glance, looks like a unit that is kind of like an upgraded marine. And why would you use that when you got the trusty marine at your side?
The awesome thing with marauders is their slow ability, this together with stim pack makes it a real badass threat. Plus the fact that it slaughters stalkers (the new protoss dragoon-wannabe) and the zerg roaches makes it something you cant NOT use in multiplayer =)
I noticed that some mapmakers had made "original hunters" in the beta, which basically was "The Hunters (8)" map from the original starcraft (with all its flaws) and the same units as the original (meaning you had goliaths, lurkers, medics, vultures etc). Overall I think they did a nice job with the multiplayer, the only unit I miss is the vulture and their spider mines.
When it comes to owning online, I'll write up a few tips.
1) Never ever stop building resource-gathering units like SCV's, probes or drones. Even if you think you have too many, Build more.
2) Study build orders, or if you don't like to read stupid guides, then just learn from your opponents. After each battle you can see their build order in the statistics. Usually a terran would build supply at 10, barracks at 12 and a protoss would build pylon at 9 and gateway at 11/12. But its very important that while you do this, dont forget tip #1.
3) Counter your enemy. If he is building air units, then you need units that can shoot air. If you dont know what your enemy is building at any given time, figure it out. Send units to scout and harass, but just make sure you leave enough time to do tip #1.
lol that is retarded
that looks absolutely gorgeous. I hope the game is as good as that first video there
