I've just set it up on my home machine that i always have on. (we use SVN for our projects) You can have your project there too if you want. Just pm me on skype and i'll set it up for you. (skjalgsm)
The server is in norway with 30/30 fiber connected to it so speed shouldn't be an issue. the svn files are on a dedicated SSD as well that I dont use for anything but the svn server.
There is one drawback tho, you'll have to install hamachi as well because I'm behind a firewall that i cant figure out how to turn off, but hamachi circumvents it somehow. I guess I should look into the firewall issue again tho... Might have a look at that this weekend.

It just got accepted to the asset store and will be sold for 10$.

Hi guys
For those of you who use Unity3D, I'd like to get your opinions on a few editor extensions that I've made, and which soon will be downloadable through the Asset Store.
I created a forum thread at the Unity3D forums to pimp it, so I figured I should post it here as well
Quote from Exit Strategy EntertainmentDisplay MoreHi guys.We at Exit Strategy Entertainment made a prototype of our upcoming game; Pirates of new Horizons a while back and in doing there has been the need for a few tools a long the way. I have now brushed up on those tools and made a package of them for the Asset store. All the tools come in their source code (c# scripts) so that you can easily see the algorithms used and hopefully give us valid feedback and in turn help others

Read more about all the tools at our forums
Update:
The package has been accepted on the Asset Store and will be sold for 10$.
Update #2:
We have submitted version 1.1 to be released on the asset store. The new version includes an in game console. For more information about this release please scroll down.

The tool will be continuously updated with tools that we come up with and think will be handy for the rest of you.
Right now the tool consists of;
Console
The console is based upon regular fps consols. You can read more about it on our forums.

References Transform Inspector
This custom inspector will provide you with some handy buttons that will make your object creation a little simpler, while also providing a very powerful viewer.
The Show References toggle will provide you with a list that shows all the gameobjects in the scene that references the selected gameobject or transform with any script that you use. It is incredibly handy.

Find Script Objects
Located under Window/ESE Toolbox/Find Script Objects
When managing complex scenes it was hard for us to figure out where a script was used, or if it i was used at all, so we made this tool where you can drag in a script and press find and it will list all the gameobjects that use the selected script.

Find Layer Objects
Located under Window/ESE Toolbox/Find Layer Objects
This tool works exactly like Find Script Objects, but instead of searching by script name it searches by layer. Handy if you want to check if a layer is used or not.

Copy Field
Located under Window/ESE Toolbox/Copy Field
When refactoring scripts by renaming variables unity will loose the already set values that are there. This tool helps you with that issue. Just drag in the script you want to copy a variables value from and then drag in the script you want to copy to. Select the variables you want to copy from and to and select if you want to do this on your scene or your prefabs or both. Then press copy.

a picture is worth a thousand words

No but seriously, it makes people put a face to the name and remember you better.

Your CV needs a photo of you. It helps a lot

Shameless copy of God Of War (I love gow, so I dont really mind it), but I actually just end up wishing it had more of GOW. The story so far is just too random, the fighting/jumping/ledge grabbing physics are just a shadow of what they are in GOW and it gets frustrating after a while...

Both me and warby watched the video with glee, but I think frie has a point. That kind of humor is awesome in small chunks. (or if you are high/drunk
)

The real application for the mass market here is obviously just to not get blurry family photos. Or the possibility to just for once have a non-blurry picture after a party.
I swear to god, the camera has an evil devil inside which makes the pictures blurry after he notices that the guy taking pictures have had just one beer!

yay I made warby switch to chrome from FF5

Quote from Rick_D
you mean being able to check the internet inside a game without having to tab out? yeha i ttoally hate that convenience. fuck valve, those faggot cunts.
luls, so alt+tab a windowed game is so different from pushing shift-tab in a steam game to get to internet?
Actually it is, because i can use chrome which is like 10x faster than the IExplore hack steam use. (I know they went away from iexplore when they did their mac release, but their current browser is still shit).
But the browser isn't my main beef with steam. Its how everything is sluggish when clicking on anything. Even opening the tool takes forever.
-
Rune multiplayer was awesome!
-
Seriously guys, you dont think steam is laggy? When launching it, it takes forever. Sometimes I can see the outline maybe 10 seconds before anything pops up, and when something pops up its all black and I gotta wait another 10 seconds before the content of the page appears. I cant think of even one other program I have that lags as much... maybe skype... Oh and dont get me started on the whole browser thing inside steam. jeez what a terrible idea.

I guess you can say that Wrath of the lich king had some influences from viking/nordic folklore, and then theres Too Human, that hack and slash game that took 11 years to create or something...
-
the grenade sequence was awesome

-
What exactly does he want to do? Be a game designer or a level designer or a 3d artist or what?
All of those things you can become without school, and most likely you'll be better at it if you keep doing that for three years instead of going to school for three years, because the internet is filled with great teachers and tutorials

Except if he wants to be a programmer, then he should go to school.
Now that I think about it, taking courses in games design is often cited (in norway) as getting an education in unemployment, because most studios wont hire people to dream up their games for them, they usually have an abundance of people already working there that would gladly take that job.

Yeah because the healing spell from the witch in the tent with the dancing ghosts were so real

I started reading the books when
QuoteEddard Stark got surrounded in the keep after king robert died
, because i just couldn't wait one week to find out what happened next. And now I'm 30 pages away from finishing book two. One thing that surprised me was that I had just read a section in book two before I went to bed on sunday and when I woke up on monday to see the final episode in season one the scene I had just read the night before was in there. So they are taking some liberties with the series, which I think is good. That particular scene could might as well have happened there.
For those of you who want to know which scene it is:
Quoteits the scene when Catelyn Stark confronts Jaimie Lannister about pushing her child out the window and to being the father of King Joffrey and the rest of Queen Cersei's children
.
Spoilers about what to expect in season two:
QuoteMore incest
More murder and death
Wars between Stark, Baratheon and Lannisters

I'd make an MMO facebook game like farmville/cityville except it would be very much like transport tycoon and you could essentially invest in your friends' companies and plan transporting projects and apply friends for funding etc...
-
yay for competition and yay for other products than steam because steam is laggy! (dont get me wrong, it like steam, i just dont like the lag it has)
-
Making fun of warbys spelling is like mocking a disabled kid for being in a wheel chair.
You are a bad human being dick_r
