Problem is that we are using the beta build internally and we cant revert because use some of the new functionality.

Hey guys,
As you might have noticed we're nearing our first pre-release (preview of the game) and as such I would love it if you guys would take the time to just quickly test our main character controls.
The map is programmer art, its setup in a way so that I can reach most features within a few meters so don't look at the graphics that much

Controls are pretty simple; awsd for moving, space for jumping and mouse for looking around with the camera. left click to attack and right click to aim.
R to kick or throw your cat when you are aiming and F to use whatever gadget is selected. You can select gadgets with 1-9.
edit;
i removed the build since it was made with a beta release of unity. Sorry guys

I got a beta key and so far it has been great playing it. very nostalgic. I do however have a couple of complaints but they are fairly minor.
Anyone else got a key that wants to play with me?

that song got me more interested in playing the game than anything ive seen so far.

I would not be where I am today if it weren't for mapcore. Starting my own company alongside 3 mapcorians and for the better part of a year now working full time on our game. So thank you very much for keeping this site alive Thrik. Much love
I donated 10£ via google checkout.

don't you guys make console games?
We do, but personally I prefer to play it with the mouse+keyboard controls. Warby loves the xbox controls, so I'm fairly happy that we nailed the multi-controller-scheme

Which reminds me, we should probably have a build for you guys to test fairly soon.

Buying games on steam is very expensive for Europeans. I can usually save a few euros by buying from amazon or the like. (Its the whole 10$ = 10€ thing that goes wrong, because it essentially costs 25% more in Europe because of this).
But if I can buy a game, then just insert the cd-key in steam I'm fairly happy.
Back to the question, I do download games. I pirates BF3 because it came out earlier on torrent and was actually easier to install than the real thing (didn't need origin and download was very quick). But I had already purchased the full game so EA can only blame themselves for using an inferior distribution model than hackers and crackers can provide. I also downloaded MW3 and tried that, because I was so in doubt about if I should buy it or not and I'm glad I didn't. I got to the hamburg part and stopped playing because it was just so boring, and I have no idea how they can defend the 60$ price tag for that.
Warby has also been telling me how great zelda wind waker is, so I downloaded the dolphin emulator to try and give that a go, but it proved to be too much of a hassle so I haven't really gotten to play it. I think I'll just skip it altogether and play the zeldas on the wii if I can borrow it from a friend sometime.
Last couple of games I bought was RAGE (havent completed it, because everyone told me the ending was shit), Total War Shogun 2 (back when it was first released, I've played it for 101 minutes. So not worth the money), Amnesia Dark Decent (played it for maybe 10 minutes and grew bored when I was just running back and forth and had no idea what to do. Ambience was great, level design not so much).

Oh yeah most definitively. Its basically the exact same game with better graphics. And its easier to use the ships.

skjalg, really, stop bullshitting.so if you took in the quote i used, he explains how everything is connected, and how, my friends, design isn't linear. he explains how you can go back and forth between cycles, which is very similar to agile development. the point i've been trying to make all this time, which you have been apparently misunderstanding deliberately, is that agile development is iteration and reflection based. i did even say that maybe it was restructured for creative heads, but that doesn't mean that this isn't the same fucking thing. then you take in details like management, or show concrete examples of other frameworks such a scrum, and expect all agile development to equate to that. agile development doesn't have a tight fucking definition, because agile development depends on how you want to structure your framework. the framework then may be more tightly defined, but there are so many frameworks out there that STILL derive from agile development.
So your defense here is that agile development doesn't have tight definition, and that its about how you want to structure your framework.
Great.
Then I can get away with saying that my kid uses agile development when shitting in his diapers. its an iterative process and whenever I change diapers I can tell that he's reflecting over what he's done (because he's smiling)
So because agile development is such a lose term (all you really need is the keyword "iterate" right?) then this fits... /sarcasmPoint is, you cant wiggle your way out of yet-another-argument that you're losing by saying that your terminology (agile development) can mean everything in the world that is iterative design, and that you are right because in his design scheme he used iteration. Agile development does have a fairly tight definition. If you read up on wikipedia you'll notice how much the process described in that blog differs from agile development. (Look under characteristics)

Nope (chuck testa).
I think it was around here
.Anyways, tried to put it in this morning and noticed that my save game was lost or something as pressing continue put me back a couple of chapters. Felt awful, but I decided to look on the bright side and that it would probably be best to let me get back into the story, so I played it for a couple of hours and still isn't back at the place i remember i left off at, but at least I know where to go this time aroundExternal Content www.youtube.comContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. Oh and, the reason why I couldnt continue the last time is that I had bought a ps3 because warby has been raving about how great the uncharted game is and when I sat down with the controller and tried to play i could never shake the feeling that the controls felt sluggish and unresponsive. Woah woah stop raging!.. Let me explain: compared to blindingly fast pc games, where I usually have 100+ fps and my mouse input responds 1:1 on the screen a frame later, then console games just cant hold up. Console games are riddled with stuff to try to fix this issue like input smoothing (and naughy dog even thought it was an issue themselves since they tried to do something new in U3, which of course didn't work out because you cant fix broken game pad design in software)

My next card is going to be ATI, as much I really don't want it to be. But Nvidia just does not offer ANY decent quality cards with a single or less pin PCI-E power requirements. All their 256-bit cards need two, and my 400w Corsair only has one. So if I want a good card without having to replace my entire PSU (which would be a nightmare of work, seriously), I have to get the Radeon HD6850, which is ~$140, 256-bit, roughly equal to a GT460 in power, but only needs one power connection.
Wait, so you think that missing textures, uv's behaving weirdly and overall a massive cluster fuck of graphical bugs in all your games (You get it to work on one game, but its broken in another, and then when you find some drivers for that game its breaks in all the others and this continues on until your card dies) constitutes a decent quality card?
Dude wtf

point is; go for a less "decent specs" nvidia card. In the long run you'll be a happier person.

Maybe I should put in my U2 copy into the ps3 and finish that game... hmm
-
I love how, in every uncharted game, when you step onto (or off) something that is a physics platform (like that train level) theres always a cut scene... Its like they're not using the same movement system like in the regular levels at all

get him a pc, and world of warcraft. He'll be busy for a few years

Are you still so sure about the similarities (A hint; in the first image the P is not connected to the G).
I think you would score very low on those IQ tests where you have to match (or mismatch) logical images

I repair tanks as often as I can (I always play engineer), but its a real pain in the ass when you dont get support from the aux gun (he's usually wasting his bullets on the tank opposite to me, not caring about the infantry moving up from behind).
Also, every time im standing with a tank in my facing holding the e key and watching what looks like a load bar I always gets reminded of a Hacker News post that read something like "dont make your users do shit work". The article described how google plus was doomed to fail because the first think you had to do was shit work (arranging your friends), whereas on facebook it automatically just made relevant groups for you that was good enough. And I cant help but think that having a huge green blob in my face (that eventually just leaves me, not caring if i helped it or not) and watching a load bar that I myself can only fill up by just holding e is kind of... shit work... not game play at all.
But then there's the thrill and suspense when me and a friend are holding a street with our tank and i hop out to repair while he covers me and I run around the tank and shoot an anti tank missile just to get ahead (because the other tank also gets repaired) and we end up winning that battle because I multitask so much.
