I usually always scroll with the sides (and Ive turned up the speed so I dont have to waste so much time doing it).

If I want to go far i just click on the map.

If you are centered on your hero at all times, you will not be able to be as combat-aware as you can be now. It would be frustrating as hell when arrows and hooks come out of seemingly nothing because you are running a low resolution.

Funny thing, I got a copy of DOTA 2 for doing the Rise of the Immortals achievement. Can't really seem to get into this though. The controls just don't seem to make sense to me, must not be doing it right.

put one hand on the mouse, the other hand around the general qwerty area.

then right click on the mouse anywhere and your champion/hero will go there. Right click on an enemy and you will go to it and start attacking. left click any object and you can see its info in the down right corner.

click q, w, e, or r to use the abilities. If you dont like how the keys are set up you can rebind keys in the options.

How is this not sensible? Its like this in warcraft, starcraft, diablo, WoW, any other rts/mmo ive ever played that has heroes with abilities. I need to know what specifically didnt make sense to you.

To be fair, the players balanced Starcraft far better than Blizzard ever did. Broodwar was, on paper, obscenely unbalanced.

haha it was hilarious to go back to the campaign after a couple of years because the single player units didn't get the balance updates (since that would ruin the single player experience). The game was totally different, it was so weird.

I think valve has hit the nail with dota 2. Its a perfect mix of old and new. Its as easy to get into as LoL was, but just as hard to master as HoN/Dota1 is. The heroes (all from dota1) makes it a very nostalgic experience for me and I think this will be my favourite game throghout 2012.

Yeah he actually talked to you with real diaolgue (unlike wow) and you got to make your own choices also 9unlike wow) and you can complete your mission with a companion (unlike wow). Sure its still a traditonal mmo style gameplay but with Biowares level of great Story telling and some other new additions. At least they give meaning to each mission.

Skyrim does the exact same thing, go do this and go do that, eat some shit and crap some stat.

..Which is also why I lasted about 5 minutes in the world of Skyrim before my eyes started bleeding. I think wow has ruined what used to be my favorite genre. :/ (oh and, when you say companion do you mean a friend in a party because you can totally do quests with friends in wow).

But everyone's achievements are usually founded/based on someone else's work. Carmack probably owes everything to "x".... that owes everything to "y"... that owes everything to "z"... that owes everything to the big bang.

And naming the big bang person of the year would just be ridiculous Skjalg.

In other news, I agree with e-freak and the other valve fanboys. Long live the Gaben.

Yes, I was arguing the same point (although sarcastically), as an answer to everyone voting because "that guy" (carmack or gaben) had influenced them so much instead of voting on the actual subject at hand.

woha, freaked me out when i had this tab in the background and suddenly the music goes up! how did you embed it into the side?

I used some voodoo trickery. Its not really that great to use since it eats your bandwidth like crazy since it loads the entire game every time you view the thread.

But what you need to do is write the bb code [unity3d]url_to_your_unity_web_player_object[/unity3d)
