a beer, or regular alcohol thread would probably be a good idea at this point

Looking incredible. In many ways I was expecting it to be little more than a risk-free reinterpretation of the old games with newer graphics, but it looks like they're keen on implementing all sorts of revolutionary simulations and systems into the game — as someone who loves that kind of of complexity I'm ridiculously excited.

Ah, fair point Frie. I have tried it briefly also with a mouse/keyboard, but it didn't occur to me it might behave differently with a pad. I would recommend your camera guy check out Psychonauts if he can, as that was developed largely with the PC in mind and includes probably the best mouse/keyboard platformer camera I've seen.
It can be controlled just like in PoNH, but it also operates smartly if you leave it alone and does a really good job of looking cinematic — it'd help bring out your gorgeous graphics and scenes so much.Me and Zacker both worked on the camera. He made the automated stuff that kicks in if you leave the camera alone for a while and I augmented it a little bit to take into account what kind of steepness you are standing on. Which means if you are walking up a hill it will move while panning up down so you can see up etc..

So, when you say "imminent", do you mean "in a couple of months" ?

In regards to the server transfer.

as you should
you said it yourself. the (level) designers use unity while you as an artist use max.Edit;
The thing is, unity3d can be whatever you want it to be as its basically just a shell where you can whatever you like. Theres editor extensions that allows you to model, animate, draw textures, code, set up game logic etc so it can basically be used to fit whatever work flow your company or team needs it to be. This is probably one of the best things about unity, and I think the fact that you don't think of it as a level editor is because your team has just chosen not to use it as such.

How exactly isnt Unity3D a level editor?

":1ij2vr4m]Projectors suck tbh, there's nothing like a bright nice, contrasty and vivid image from a big ass tv.
this.
My brother has a really kick ass projector and awesome surround system, but my friends 60" 3d LED tv is sooooooo much better.

Funny how a couple years ago everyone hated steam, but reading the comments section on kotaku people actually want steam as an OS now.
Good job valve
