Yeah I agree. I never wanted to farm in D3. But I didn't in D2 either, so that doesn't surprise me.

I have no idea what the numbers are, but I would bet money on Diablo 3 having a broader appeal than Diablo 2 did back in the day. Especially considering the fact that there just sooo many more players around now and its just not made up of a select few hard core gamers anymore. At the time of launch D3 was jam packed with everyone but my mother. I even talked with some of my cousins (yes, plural lol) on b.net which I hadn't heard from in years. D3 sold a ton and got played a ton. It just didn't last because at the core its just a game about farming.

But so was Diablo 2. Only thing that has changed is that some gamers forgot that about the diablo series I guess :/

I played D3 nonstop for a whole weekend on a lan party and had a blast. definitively got my moneys worth (60€), compared to most other AAA titles that I just spend 5~8 hours completing and never touch again.

I dont know what you guys were expecting, but single player focused games these days usually don't last more than a week, let alone 3 months.

because if you overdo normal maps the scene overall looks darker and has too much dark spots everywhere that really doesn't look that good from a lot of angles.

I dont know, its hard to explain but I feel like it tries to look real, but it just looks like a bad photoshop job when you move around in the scene.

I remember being good friends with one of Norways best quake players back when quake 3 had just come out. He was left handed and played with the arrow keys (right hand) and the mouse (left hand). He used the right cltr+shift and keypad extensively as well in other games that required more keys.

What kind of ship is completely round like that and causes electronic equipment to fail when you dive within 200 metres of it? This doesn't look like a shipwreck.

There is a lot of completely round objects on a ship. Cannon towers, radars, weather stations, also I remember the front of a lot of really big ships have this penis shaped thing in front

Also, regarding the equipment malfunction it can just be a camera malfunction.

But of course, I really hope to be proved wrong and that this is an alien space ship from a galaxy far far away

Glad you seem to like it! Looking forward to posting more stuff. And big ups to Rick_D for the lovely art!

Yeah he is way to similar to breen (not a good thing). You should probably give him long hair or make him bald or something to make him stand out more.

There are downsides to episodes too, though. It's common during the creative process to think of things later that could really enhance something produced earlier, especially in a game like HL1 where similar assets, enemies, and environments are used pretty much continuously. The overall quality of the game could drop significantly, even if it gets done faster. It takes a lot of skill to manage episodic releases of an FPS well, a skill even Valve have totally failed at (Hello, Episode Three?).

I agree with you, but we're talking about a game that is a very close remake to a game already in existence. It would be a hell of a lot easier to plan and produce reusable content when you are 100% sure what the story/chapters/scenes/maps will do and play like. Plus, they could just release each new episode as a patch to the original mod. So if you have it installed on steam you could just update it and get the "latest" episodes, which also could patch the old content if bugs were found etc..

I'd prefer it if the released it in a episodic fashion.

hl1 is even divided into chapters, so its a natural fit i think. I also think that the game (as a whole) would be finished sooner that way because shit just gets done faster if you show it to people earlier.

    tf2 and dota2 are f2p.

however, the half-life games arent. And this is why I think crytek is making a mistake. f2p is viable (almost necessary these days) for a multi player game. But for a summer box office popcorn single player experience like the next crysis, then I dont really see how they will earn money with f2p.

I know this is a controversial issue, but soccer needs video judging asap. The only good reason against it is nostalgia.

I don't think you could call yourself f2p if you just change it to chapter based payment method.

Because that is pay to play, right? Same goes for subscription to play.
