ya instead of slice u connect so you get a straight linealtho i was looking at the screen part it still applies, just a tidbit of knowledge for a fledgeling modeler

i still dont see what you mean, because everything on that model is a straight line, and everything is connected... ?

you shouldnt use the slice tool for that monitor, instead connect the edges. (select both and connect tool in edit poly)much faster and more exact

or even inset for that matter

what in the world are you talking about?

i used the slice tool at the very beginning of the model (sliced the bottom thing in two, and extruded it up to make the back supporting stuff..)

And here is a video tutorial I made how to import a custom model in Hammer (which doesn't work the normal way strangely enough, probably a bug)

    http://www.insmod.net/team/delaz/files/t72_vidtut.rar

The first link didnt work, only file in the smd/ folder was this one:

    True!

But there is no good tutorials for us mappers, its like hard to learn how to model... I think some super wise mapcorian guy should make like 2-3 tutorials, made especially for ol' mappers such as us, written so we understand it... with some basic tips and hints.. "how to make a chair" "how to make a pipe" etc...

and we could put it into a new section called guides, where posts that also has guide-like stuff in them goes...

I want a guide forum :D:D (every decent design communties got one)
