    Since its based on x86 architecture, I bet its going to be really easy to create games for.

    I honestly don't see the benefit of having backwards compatibility to the old games in the new hardware. The developers time is better spent moving forward instead of catering to the ones that want to play old games.

    There's bound to be different reasons as to why these guys were left off, but I still think it has to do something with not fitting in (anymore?). It could very well be that the old dogs were being fed up with the new recruits having just as much power as themselves.

    An example from my old job at Kongsberg, the programmers who had been there the longest were looked down upon a lot by the new generation because how they did things were considered ancient. Some of them were referred to as "dinosaurs" and they were mostly given the tasks no one else wanted (because they are less likely to quit, since they are so damn old, and they would spend weeks doing the simplest tasks and always complaining about the new software we used and that everything was so much better when you had to punch code into cards etc)...

    I remember being a little surprised by one of gabes answers regarding the company's flat structure. He said something a long the lines of "we have to be aggressive about firing people". Which I think is an answer he came up with right then and there because they were probably in the middle of organizing a huge layoff from the company. My bet is that the people who got laid off are people that did not do so well in a flat structure (where you mostly have to organize yourself). Either that or their expertise just weren't needed anymore.

    Its probably a bug that no one has noticed because games aren't struggling with the triangle-count anymore since the gpu's are so damn fast these days. Its all about memory and draw calls now.

    It's under the "Tools" section in your Steam library, same place as Source SDK and all those useless dedicated servers for games you probably don't own. Kind of an annoying place for it.

    (it's also HUGE and only works on 64-bit systems)

    Can't find it anywhere :S

    Whatever, got turned off after learning about build/load times in the editor anyway

    This. It surprised me a whole lot that they made tools that make it really hard to iterate fast.

    Jericho really wasn't so good as to warrant a number 1 status on any list imho. The setting was awesome, but the execution was terrible. It wasn't exciting at all. The best episode was the pilot with the bomb blowing up in the distance and you thinking of how cool a story this can become, but then it doesn't live up to even your lamest imagination...

    A couple of things that I found interesting were;

    * They are going to make it possible for you to create your own customized shop using the Steam API

    * He thinks greenlight is a shitty version of democratization and that it is a bottleneck.
