The first thing I noticed was how fucking annoying it was that the screenshots you posted automatically resized my browser, luckily for you your map made me smile.. It's looking great! Very nice job..

Will you ever consider donating the custom content to the PVK2 mod?

    Unparalelles realism

You have a very nice trailer there, very nice site, very nice looking mod going there.. The maps looked a little meh, but I guess thats alright too..

I liked how you are not trying to create the ultimate fps, and not the basic single player, but something more story driven.. Very nice!

I noticed your team structure.. I gather this LedKardova guy is the one who wrote the dialogue and story, but what excactly is your role on the team Canuck? (besides looking for more members and posting news on the webpage).

[...]If it's XP 64-bit you're talking about I'd advise just not bothering. It's become kind of a Windows ME of 64-bit operating systems.

haha, alright... But is there a significant increase in speed when using x64 (Im talking vista here) than the x86 ?

you could have gotten that system for about 50% of the price if you had gotten all the parts seperately and assembled it yourself...also keep in mind that a 500w psu with that system will only hold up for so long, so you might have to replace it in a year or 18 months. i'd have gone for a 650w to be on the safe side.

The items I am listing here are stuff I've bought myself on http://www.komplett.no). And I am assembling it myself.. Thanks for the tip on the psu though, you're not the first to mention it so I guess its something I should watch out for. I've never in my life bought a "already built computer" since I find them unreliable

I could never have just 1 HDD in my PC, not too keen on RAID either. I had 2 160Gb HDD's and they were fine till the main one started smoking, luckily it was the OS and programs HDD not the data one.

Haha yeah, I know what you mean... I am using 3 HDD's in my current setup where one is dedicated to windows and programs, one is dedicated to Steam and 3d stuff, and the third is the rest (various games / movies).

I'm going to use my old System as a server now, it has 500gb, which is enough for movies and stuff for me, that way I wont fill my new pc with all that stuff... I'll also do backups ofc (I hope i'll remember atleast )

well ican tell you x64 is kind of a pain in the ass. all drivers and apps seem kind of fucked. i got so many crashes and instant reboots. hilarious! though my old USB TV device has no vista or x64 drivers i cant watch TV anymore.why 4GB? well did you ever paint a 4096x4096 texture in photoshop with around 100 layers? no? then try to with 2GB! saving the file takes like 1 minute and HDD is swapping all the time!

I thought those problems were mainly just "oh its brand new" kind of bugs.. Most of that shit must've been straightened out by now?

    or?

whoa i cant disagree more frie. Sure it looks cartoony but not world of warcraft cartoony imo. that world of conflict look great, but design wise i find that pretty boring actually. Whats exactly interesting about the military realism it's trying to recreate? the only thing i like is the colorful sunsets and lighting they use in their screenshots.Theres probably something wrong with me, i think starcraft 2 is graphically one of the coolest, greatest looking games to come. As warby said, they gave every pixel a great amount of love. I love that for example the terrain textures arnt just tiling photos, but that there has been real creativity behind everything.

I'm probably just a color junkie, but I know that the masses are going to love this, not only because its a sequel to starcraft, but because the graphics just look so appealing, Blizzard are geniuses.

couldnt be more spot on imho.

I just pressed "order" on my new pc... I decided to go for one of the best gfx cards, since the fps was a lot better on high resoloutions.. I also figured it was a little cooler with quad cpu's rather than duo. (Source will support this in ep2, they say).

    Anyways, heres the specs:

    HDD:

    Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM

RAM (bought 2x of these, so 4gb):

    Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 2048MB CL5 Kit w/two matched CM2X1024A-6400 Dimm's

    SOUND (pff?):

Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer Low-profile PCI, Retail

    POWER:

    NorthQ 4775-500S, ATX 500W Silent, 140mm Fan, 12-17dBA, 4xSATA, SLI, 20/24pin

    GFX CARD:

    XFX GeForce 8800GTX 570M 768MB GDDR3, PCI-Express, 2xDVI/HDTV/HDCP, 384-bit

    PROCESSOR

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz Socket LGA775, 8MB, BOXED w/fan

    MOTHERBOARD

XFX nForce 680i LT SLI, Socket-775, GbLAN, DDR2, SATAII, ATX, 2xPCI-Ex16

    TOWER

Chieftec Giga Miditower Sort, 2 Fans, USB/Firewire/Audio (No Power Supply)

    Total cash = 13222 NOK ~ 2200$

Feel free to bash / comment on the setup all you like

my student loan barely covers a bed and food on the table.

I've worked alot this summer though, to earn cash for a new computer. Would you guys suggest I buy a ps2 and play 3-4 games, or should I put everything into a new computer so I can run all these new beautiful games that are coming to the PC soon. (Age of Conan, Crysis, etc etc) ?
