Yeah, got a mail from Gamespot the other day about it being released today, gonna check it when I get home and Im sure I'll be humiliated once agan by low framerates (like everyone else).Beh, I need to upgrade soon :G

Haha dude. If the latest 3dmark doesnt run "great" on your computer, it doesnt mean you have to upgrade...

3dmark05 doesnt run so great on my comp and I can still play new games with high details etc. and I have pretty high end system.

In all honesty, not that many people do complain about it anymore. It's fast becoming a standard way of playing games (last time I checked there were over seven third parties signed up to distribute via Steam, and EA and whatnot are introducing their own mandatory services for certain titles as we speak), and whether you like it or not the internet is going to become necessary for a lot of software to function in the near future.Steam in particular is also a fantastic way of cracking down on warez, which is a very serious issue with pretty much all PC software in general at the moment, something which could very easily be a death sentence for smaller developers who put out innovative games. The public thinks "Oh, this game might be a bit weird so I'll full demo it ;) ;)", they never bother buying it, the developer is fucked over. The old ways of stopping warez are obsolete and you have probably even circumvented them in the past yourself; new ways such as requiring something like Steam are stepping in.

It's not like Half-Life 2 doesn't quite clearly have "requires internet connection" on the back of the box, anyway. Why did you buy it if you're still living in the 1990s? That's six years ago, just to remind you. As of last year, over 55% of households in the UK alone have internet access, with three fifths of them on broadband -- I'd imagine that pretty much all gamers fall into that percentage. Complaining about things requiring net access is a "little" outdated my friend.

    Dude, you rock. QFT!

I tried to watch the show, but my brain is flawed, it just can't accept a TV show that has so unrealistic pace, 5 minute flight from LA to somewhere in Mexico seems highly unrealistic.

That's why it's called tv show. Why everything needs to be realistic? What kind of series you watch then if they need to be realistic?

You can play games with personal computers. mp3 players are for the music.

When was the last time you used Steam? I haven't had any problems with it for a long time, except for some wacky steam validation ticket problem when i try to run a map directly from the console.

Same here, no problems with Steam. Actually, I've never had any problems with it except when it was released.

Negative. Aftermath (and all other Valve games) requires Steam. I dont see any bad thing about it.

I think you have a great singleplayer project coming along, but you should definately rethink the lighting in those levels. Now they are plain BORING.

if you look at this HL2: Aftermath screenshot you know what I mean. Spice up the lighting/fog/sky etc and you'll get alot better mood and atmosphere to the map.

Auto Update for the win. Seriously, there isn't a good reason not to have it on. Windows doesn't have any minor bugs anymore. Every update seems to fix some vulnerability that can toast your machine.

    Just saw it.

AWESOME movie! Im not going to write a novel about it but it was definately one of the best movies I've seen. CGI was awesome, specially Kong's expressions etc. Also they had a nice CGI Chicago (was it?) modeled.

    5/5
