I've got 2 2001FPs right now, but I'm tempted to consolidate to a larger widescreen sometime down the road.

Now if I have a card with dual-dvi out and don't use any of the other options, would it be a wise investment?

They took out eating and the ability that other AI stalkers could finish the game before you. Those don't sound like the best features in my opinion.
The more I read about shit like that, the less I cared. Maybe by cutting that there'll actually be a game inside the wilderness simulator they've spent all their time building.

oh noes, whatever have I done????

you'll be tugging that earlobe nonstop in no time!

I don't at all believe you on the number of textures bit, but I guess that probably depends on your resolution.

Looks really cool - those textures are really starting to sell it. That chain off the broken pillar at the bottom is a great touch, btw, just noticed that now.
where'd that bottom wall texture come from? One of our artists used the same source for a wall way back in the early days of Q4.
One of my favorites as far as the concretes go. -
and the map name finally makes sense!

"StarCraft is my absolutely favorite game of all time," Sams told us. "As you probably already know, there is no doubt that we will continue the StarCraft and Diablo franchise, and trust me, I will be the happiest person in the world when we announce StarCraft 2."
Sure, that doesn't mean right away, but that sort of statement tends to inspire more confidence than random speculation

Warhammer, really?Looks more like something out of Unreal2007 to me

Agreed. Like the red-armored guy in the one shot.
Gotta say, I love it. Would be really interested to see what an entire set built off this sort of idea would end up looking like... seems like you could do some awesome stylized shit with it. I know I haven't delivered on the one I promised already (yet!), but make a Q4 set out of this and I'll make a map with it

lol he pulled himself out of a hat.

Have you considered maybe rounding off the edges of your brush supports along the wall (left side, last shot)? Some smoothing on those corners would look fantastic and help get rid of that stark 90 degree angle. Valve seemed to use it pretty heavily on the hospital stuff in ep1; looked great.
It's always cool seeing a style you recognize come back years later with some better tri count and resolution... looking forward to this

I'm all for premium bonus packs a la Project Gotham Racing (though I felt they were more worthwhile back in PGR2 when they came with cities as well as just cars) in a racing game, but I don't want to buy ALL the game content seperate from the game.
It sucks that shitty implementations like this can ruin the entire business model for those that actually understand how to do it reasonably. Free content is great, but if it takes a few bucks to get quality content added to a quality game, I'm willing to drop a little cash here and there for it. But don't give me a goddamn empty box and expect me to fill in the blanks with my wallet.

Heaven forbid they improve the system as time goes on!
Microsoft at least seems to be doing things intelligently, the external drive and 1080p support could mean they could in theory get a blu-ray external player up and going should that take off instead... though I still don't think either will be that successful yet, and the multi-layer HD-DVD proposal sounds really enticing..I can't help but wonder if it's GPU or CPU that's holding back 1080p games. If it's GPU, we probably won't see anything other than the next geometry wars and various live arcade games support it. But if it's CPU, we could see progress in that realm as people start getting stronger and stronger with the multiple cores.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually the latter.

woohoo! nicely done

He was actually my diversion for a far more sinister task...

Yeah, F3 just toggles whether you're in camera or rendered mode. F7 refreshes the scene and updates with your changes. models sort of update in real-time, though, as do lights.
If you really want to see everything as it happens, hit f4 to turn on realtime mode - you'll take a slight bit of a performance hit, but you can drag and move brushes and see it immediately. Not all that useful, though. Easy enough to just refresh when you need it.

Will be interesting to see if MS are willing to do some post-christmas price cuts on the 360 come March, to make it even more appealing against the uber-priced, late arriving PS3. They were understandably wanting to keep it as it stands for Christmas, but I think they might be a little more willing to drop a little off afterwards.
You don't need a price cut when your comparable models are already $200 cheaper
