sneaky way to avoid a dedicated thread, I know. But yeah, I've been lounging at home playing games and setting up moving arrangements since last Wednesday.

btw, someone should probably remove me from the list until I get settled in down south.

Now, when you say "approaching," how close is said approach? I mean, didn't Halo 2 pretty quickly hit the 5 million mark?
I remember Gears hitting 2 million pretty quickly; in the time since that I'll wager 2.5-3.5 million?

Bah, plenty of time, and I'm even making a huge move in the middle.

One light is a great idea, but why nullify spotlights, environment lights, and texture lights? They're still lights, and force someone to make a choice about the tradeoff between the advantages of, say, an omnidirectional light vs. a directed light.

Arkane is French-based, aren't they?
Interesting to see Valve stepping more into the publisher sort of role as well (what with this and L4D)... Pretty impressive how they've gone from developer to distributor; wonder how big they'll go with it.

360: probably gears but i havent played cod3 yet. when i saw it it looked pretty awesome though.
It's definitely a good game, but I don't think it's quite up to IW's standards - guys get hung up in doorways, loop run animations into walls on occasion, and while the technology looks decent enough for being upgraded big red one tech as opposed to working from cod2, the art just seems a lot more muddled in most places compared to the much more crisp work of COD2.

World of Warcraft was released in 2004...
I'd vote for Gears, Dead Rising, Company of Heroes, and Zelda.

Oh, I get that, but not the e-mail alert, which stopped a few weeks ago.
-
aha, that might explain why I don't get PM alerts in my e-mail anymore. Fun!
