That's might be correct, but it's still naive as the underlying problems are far greater. There will always be troubled families as long as there is injustice, poverty and whatnot. That's what people should be focusing on.
Nevertheless, violence is a fact of life and strongly correlated with a person's economical and social status. A weapon can be your fist, a rock, a knife, a pistol, a rifle, etc. The easier is its to obtain a weapon of greater power the greater the incentive to use it. The easier it becomes, the greater the temptation. The greater the weapons, the greater the damage, the greater the power a person can have. What if you could buy trip mines or hand grenades from a store? Would people use them?
Just look at places such as Colombia. Poverty, injustice and easy accessibility to guns.
Removing guns wouldn't eliminate the underlying problems. Nevertheless it would minimize the consequences, while the actual problems would be worked on.

It looks all the same to me.
Q1=Q2=Q3=Q4
They all look generic and unoriginal.
Doom had lava as well or that green radioactive stuff~

It's nice but not as memorable as the bf1942 theme song for example.

Remedy is currently working on an unannounced, highly ambitious next-generation title. Work will be done at our office in Espoo, Finland. Relocation to the Espoo/Helsinki area will be required. All applicants should be able to work well in a team environment and able to carry a lot of responsibility.
I highly doubt that they are working on MP3.

The best way to get accurate news is to read several different news papers from different countries, analyze and evaluate the content.
The link I posted was just one view on the issue, however, the fact is that the situation in Iraq is worse than it was before the occupation.

Yes I have to agree about the theme. The point with the competition is not to make something highly original but a map that stays true to the HL2 universe and has good gameplay. Maps that tend to be too far apart from the HL2 theme will not be accepted since they don't deliver the HL2 expierence in multiplayer.

This was a surprise to me. Some are spiced up with Canadian flags.

President Bush used such expressions as "we know that there are" after previously stating that "we believe that they have" indicating that they had sound intelligence on the matter.
This waterproof evidence was obviously never revealed to the public as there wasn't any and they were aware of it since they were desperately searching for ties between Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein and some other implausible reasons to go to war. Most countries, however, wanted proof before taking any action.
Nothing was found, so the original reasons for the war faded away, making more room for such powerful words as freedom and democracy. It was suddenly about liberating the people of Iraq from the hands of an evil dictator.
While it was true that Iraq wasn't exactly a model country for human rights or freedom of speech, the majority lived fairly normal lives as opposed to the current situation. Now the country is in a chaotic condition and the actual death toll is staggering on both sides. Ironically, Bush is still talking about spreading freedom which will supposedly make the world a safer place. Also, why would an election make any difference in such conditions? Is it supposed to miraculously make the problems in Iraq go away?

So why can't the HL2 AI be as good?

I find it very halflife1'ish
That's exactly what I mean as well. You're too limited to the original design. The design is too HL1 like.
The buidlings, especially on the right side, feel like they are boxes one after another, only with prettier textures than in HL1. Instead of a |---| construction ya could have done a |--´´--__--| in all dimensions. It also makes it feel more natural and continuous.
It looks pretty good nonetheless but you aren't exactly using the extended capabilities of source at the moment.

It's a great picture. The original is better, it's more grand and poster like.
