  • First "Lost - The Videogame" trailer

Please, that rhetoric doesn’t apply here. Half the people watching Lost straight up admit it's crap, they’re just clinging onto the hope that something exciting might actually happen, or something will be explained in a way that doesn’t just add more stupid questions.

Though I think by now they should probably have come to the conclusion neither of those things will actually happen.

I stand here, with the first two series in my hand – well sit here with the first two series in clear sight; and proclaim DON'T DO AS I DO. IT'LL ROB YOU OF HOURS AND LEAVE YOU AN UNFUFILED BURNT OUT HUSK. NOTHING WILL EVER HAPPEN AND THE ENDING WILL NOT LIVE UP TO WHATEVER EXPECTATIONS YOU HAVE.

It's only worth watching it for that fat guy blowing himself up, which was cool. Though as it was surrounded by hours of tedium and banality on either side, it probably wouldn't be all that great by itself.

It's not exactly true to the series, more happened in that trailer than the entire second series. To be honest you only really need two buttons, one labelled "WALT" and the other “next enigmatic plot twist,” Of course, you have to wait (or alternatively, shout "WALT") for 4 goddamn hours for your "next plot twist" gauge to fill, after which your treated to an anticlimactic cut scene with lots of foreshadowing to muse over while you wait for the gauge to fill again.

Ideally this will repeats infinitely on some fractal procedural content system, which you can either lap up – causing you to explain complex theoretical theories to your friends you know won’t be true because they do crazy things like make logical sense or conclude a storyline - or, alternatively, you can smash the CD for being the dullest, over hyped piece of crap out there and marvel at how the masses are entertained by this even though they’re fully aware they’re stringing it out as much as possible and everyone’s signing contracts for a billion more series.

Turok trailer was awesome. A game series that has been about shooting down strange creatures like raptors and lizard men is mostly filled with marines in futuristic body armour with machine guns inside futuristic metal complexes. As if they were thinking all that dinosaur stuff is pretty commonplace, lets put something in to really set it apart.

Not Drone the shitty band. I think that’s me not keeping it up with the kids – and I mean that in a non-sex offender kind of way. Cult of Luna, Sun0))), Thergothon, Electric Wizard, etc. Swallow the Sun are there I guess.

Or like Guildwars and Warhammer. I can hardly say it's a unique concept, it's one of the biggest steps in the mad race to make ORPG's as casual as possible. WoW went completely PvP orientated with the expansion too (though is still a grindfest).

Looks funky on mine as well, if the window is wide enough it likes to put the site in colums and if I scroll down before the graphics loaded the bottom div ends up above the images.

Firefox, 1600x1200 (well, 3200x1200 but as much as I love you I didn't open it across both).

Give some consideration to Exit, Killzone: Liberation, and Field Commander, Taylor - all of them are pretty good, which is sort of rare for non-racing games on the PSP I haven't played mine in months to be honest, but it is handy on occasions. I don't regret buying it, but then I never regret buying anything to do with games for some reason

Well I was of course cutting short my list. There are a few delights out there but I wanted to stress I get the most enjoyment from my PSP from the not-technically-allowed stuff. Getting emulators up for Streets of Rage 2 and Progear are still what I consider the optimum usage of the PSP. It’s awesome, emulators even support wireless multiplayer.

    Disgaea 3 announced for PS3

I might have to buy two PS3's, just in case one breaks and there's a small period where I don't have access to one.

    In before: Graphics suck.

I'm still considering getting a PSP.

I love my PSP, but I use a lot of public transport. They're pretty crap by themselves but get homebrew on it and it's fantastic, got everything from SNES to Capcom arcade boards, to SCUMM (Monkey Island et, al.) emulated on it. Sadly only play a few actual PSP games, Disgaea Portable, Guilty Gear, Crush, Extra Extend... not exactly spoilt for choice.

Racing games and shooters are rather undemanding, though?

Well I guess it all boils down to what you label as hardcore/casual. Could be it by how often they play, how many games they go through, what genres they play, how cult they are, etc. Thinking about it, I've always thought "casual" to be your average guy who picks up a console for the latest roster update in FIFA, "hardcore" to be people who think

and a huge grey area in between. Which I believe means my definition sucks, but in my defence, the labels themselves suck overly more.Either way, I think the strategy RPG’s, shmups, fighters and floaty action games I enjoy are going to be mainly PS3 bound!

Never been a fan of the xbox myself, the Playstation seems much more of a 'gamer' console, it gets the stronger franchises and more support from the Japanese market. 360 seems to be much more casual, lots of sports games and generic shooters I couldn’t really care for. If I got a 360 it’d purely be for Dead Rising and EDF.

I find it strange how much hate the Playstation gets, sure they behaved extremely arrogant during its launch but it’s still been the best console for the last two generations. True, it still needs some strong games released on it, currently I mainly want one for Super Stardust HD, loved that thing on the Amiga... I think I'll wait for Devil May Cry 4 and Street Fighter before I purchase it though, in case the price drop is here too (haha!).

To be honest it’ll be worth it in a few years when the danmaku and fighting games get released to their cult circles in Korea/Japan. Pain in the ass to get that stuff at the moment.

I doubt this is about gold sellers. They are mainly based in China and I'd find it odd they'd conform to laws like this while running what is effectively an illegal organisation; most TOS forbid the use of selling 'virtual' items and currency. They get around it by having you pay for their 'time' and the gold being 'goodwill'” but everyone knows that’s crap.

I imagine this is directly related to the fact most Korean online games, everything from Gunbound to Ragnarok Online, make their money through virtual stores where you can buy items to gear up your characters. This "can" is only semi-optional, as you will be gimp compared to someone who has spent real money, and of course every few months you need to regear (same way trading cards work, bring out a new set that dwarfs the older ones every so often). Developers use this avenue for money because Korean players typically play in cyber cafes, meaning subscriptions are a pain and nobody buys games.

So given all that, it’s not so weird.

I think it looks much better than BF2 myself. It's just a retina-melting bloom away from next-gen. If anything screenshots that big detract from it as you can see all the edges and your whole monitor is taken up by a grass texture even at a respectable resolution.

Won't comment on the gameplay as it's not for me, personally don't enjoy FPS that much these days, and never really enjoyed ones where you have to run around like a blue-arsed fly recapturing stuff to win.
