are slower and easier to avoid because they don't come right at you... U1 was almost ruined because of those damn grey shits... so not fun.

I used spoiler tags because I thought some people might not know they go monster-monster at the end

I actually meant in regards to the story (I know I don’t usually do this). The zombie guys were a nice twist in U1 and related to the cursed treasure you’ve been chasing. In U2 you knew a monster was coming, you got these cool demon things, and they turned out to be lame blue guys in monkey suits because they ate some gloop.

But gameplay wise the zombies are still better IMO. You just run and gun picking up infinite ammo off the ground. As long as you adapt to the new gameplay style and don’t try to cover shoot they’re easy and it’s a nice change of pace.

The blue guys are really annoying in the first fight because they instant kill you in the open or up close, forcing you behind cover, but then they randomly decide to drop into your hiding-hole. .

They are all wired (or at least the versions I have are). The Madcatz TE has a panel on the back to stuff the wire into so it probably won't be in shots. In theory you should be able to make your PC accept the Playstation 3 controller (which is a faff) and then plug in the fightstick, but I couldn't get this to work myself.

I actually forgot about this Qanba EightArc: The triple platform one is sold out but there's PS3 & PC ones left. Don't get too excited when you click the link: that's the postage reduction! Haven't used one myself, but someone linked a review.

Well, I can go through the sticks I own.

Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Arcade FightStick: This is what most people in the ‘scene’ carry around. It uses Sanwa parts and makes an effective bludgeoning weapon, but very had to justify how much it costs.

Hori Fighting Stick 3: And this is what I actually use. I actually don’t like the Sanwa stick very much because I mainly use my arcade stick for shmups, so I’m used to feeling the corners and it jutting back neutral when I let go.

Datel Arcade Pro Joystick (PS3/Xbox 360/PC): This stick is kinda crappy and I found myself dropping a lot of simple combos on it. I brought it because it works on all modern platforms and is cheap (has actually gone up a bit on amazon but I recommend you shop around anyway). I also like the way the guy who is totally not Ryu in the artwork (blue gloves and headband).

Cutstom: I’ve just recently picked up a

, which cost me an undisclosed large amount of money, and basically turned up broken. It's all been a lot of faff. Arcade-In-A-Box are meant to be good but I’ve never used them myself.

Most 360 compatible sticks should work on PC AFAIK.

again and I must've been playing this on and off for about 4 years now.I can 1CC this without trying now and consistently hit the loop criteria (bombs used <= 2 or bombs + lives used <= 7), but I'm still nowhere near being able to 2-ALL. The second loop is brutal in so many ways, but mainly because dying sends you back to the start like it's Gradius.

I love this game, though. It's a shame the cabinet in London isn't looked after - you can't see a good percentage of the screen and the monitor rolls during the final boss making it basically impossible.

Finished watching Twin Peaks from start to finish. It's a shame there's not much closure, you can tell the network just pulled the plug.

Also got the flu. And the combination as given me the strangest dreams ever.

    Just ordered this.

I liked Demon's Souls but once it started getting a mainstream following the online went downhill pretty fast. Was great when nobody knew what was going on and people in freaky builds came at you. But it got really hyped up as some amazingly hardcore and difficult game... but it wasn't particularly challenging - you just had to not play it with a modern "to hell with it, there’s checkpoints" attitude. But people went in with guides telling them exactly what to pick and where to go, largely defeating the whole point, and you ended up in a scenario where you couldn't kill the monk anymore with a net connection because someone would Fist of God as you walked through the portal.

I know I sound like a dick with "I liked it before it was mainstream" but there you go.

I have been playing consoles for decades. Why suddenly this gen are people who've never even touched a controller blaming them for all the worlds ills? It's fantastically tedious. There's a 360 pad in my manual? Fucking consoles! They only included 22gb of textures? Fucking consoles! God.

Thanks, I’ve got it running now. It’s a really beautiful game and bombs along at a fantastic FPS even if I crank all the settings up (not that there are many). The only problem I have is that if I ever rotate the camera the textures decide it’s an N64 game.

Game doesn't launch for me, just dumps an error log and quits. Going to update everything and see if that helps.

The exclusive "make the game run" mini-game is the best part of PC gaming.

This review says the game is not fun but doesn't actually say why. It's all about the story, the drawn-out intro, and it being linear.

I can carry more than 2 guns, the guns all do different things, and health isn't handled by regen jam. That's a 80% before we even start.
