Someone has been at SteamUI.dll with a hex editor and it's there in the potential games listing, too.
We've ruined the suprize.

THEY'RE ADDING ALTERNATE SINK MODELS.
Edit: That actually looks like a jacksee squirter on closer inspection, man that'd be cool.
I started reading the thread over as SA for teh infoz.
Then I realised it was nearly sixty pages long.
Shotgun.
But let it known that none of them were overly special.
Insert a reiteration of Fletch and Kleinluka's posts here.
OH SHIT I DONT AHVE A CAR! HAHAHAA!~
But I imagine Valve largely did it because they didn't HAVE textures to use, rather than because they couldn't be arsed to texture anything yet.
Just don't expect to do any deathmatch.
Quote from D3adlodeDear mike-0;
IT'S A HLDM PLAYER DEAD ON THE GROUND YOU STUPID FUCK, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SINGLE-PLAYER GAME.. OK?

[Blocked Image: http://forums.hostileintent.org/html/emoticons/101.gif] Incorrect. The most logical reasoning for this being that HL2 has no deathmatch mode at all.
He did a noclip on the map in single-player where you attempt to teleport to Eli's lab, he found gman and killed him with an array of weaponry
That's just a configuration file, hammer doesn't have any coding or scripting in it. Which is a concept shared with no other current engine, really.
Gameinfo.txt worked for me, although the textures did not display in-game...
Modify the gameinfo.txt inside your sdk/bin/ folder (or copy it into there if it doesn't exist) and launch Hammer using the executable in /bin/ rather than via Steam - as Steam resets the file as it launches to piss you off.
But the fact is, it should be on source because nobody wants to work with Half-life anymore because Half-life 2 is better in every possible regard - and, by the same token, very few people will want to play Half-life modifications opposed to Half-life 2 modifications - giving even less incentive for artists to join your modification even if they think it's the best thing since sliced bread, or even the best thing since the elusive bread glue that sticks sliced bread back into unsliced bread so you can slice it again with a careful precision whilst pretending all the while you're inventing the supposed "best thing," ala. sliced bread.
A fact is that source's professionally designed engine features are going to be better than hacks you've thrown together in Half-life, and this isn't me deriding your skills at all, it’s just very unlikely you will match the coders at valve working on an engine they have complete access to with a 6 year old engine you have to implement thousands of workarounds into.
A fact is that aside from the code itself discussed above, the other creations of the modification are less than perfect -they could easily be re-created even better on the Half-life 2 engine by the most novice mapper or modeller, and this mapper or modeller will have unparalleled freedom in these creations.
The only problem is that the actual result is not the best way to construct a box, i.e there are more than corners touching (but it's not like that really matters anyway). It just teaches bad practices, that's all. Making a box using hollow isn't going to create any more wpoly or bad brushwork, and subtractive engines use blocks for rooms anyway.
I'd like to book a room with your portfolio.
It's mildly amusing.
WORKING.
I WANT TO DIE.
