first picture is pretty neat but that's all because of props, geometry isn't that good. rest is crap :)

Why did you bother? You might as well of just posted pictures of birds...

Right, the basic impression I get from this is that it's very early so there's a loooong way to go before it will start to look like it 'should'. You should of waited really till you'd got some better stuff to show, but I'll guide you anyway.

First screen is prop central, this isn't such a bad thing on one side of the spectrum but it helps to have a bit of interesting geometry, from what I can see there, with the exception of theprops everything else looks flat and uninteresting, add a bit more detail on the ceiling and replace the texture on the left as it looks a bit too much like a ceiling texture to me.

The second screen looks kinda bare too, but it's not such a great picture anyway, you could of probably taken a better one that showed off the surrounding area a bit better.

If that 'thing' in screenshot five is meant to be an unfinished bridge then make it look like one, at present it looks like someone bolted down a makeshift piece of metal on top of a building! Look at some photos of bridges if you need a bit of reference, it's obvious to me that this area is far from even half-way done and thus you should really have waited till it was detailed more before showing us.

My 2$, good luck with it!

What they said. Doom III is extremely detailed when it comes to objects and geometry, I'm sure you can get away with more detail. Add some skull things and demons and pentagrams or what have you!

In terms of graphics, perhaps Nexus doesn't have the hardware to run the game at full holt? I don't know as I don't have the game..

It looks alright, it's obvious there's a way to go, but a good start.

Looks nice, I don't really think I can add more than that because everyone else has pretty much summed up everything else.

I remember the first day I stepped into the IRC room about 5 or so years ago, everyone was petting each other and going 'LOL' a lot, I was quite scared.. D: I think the site was offline when I first appeared, but it's hard to recall. Ahh yes, memories.. back then RD's 'Mission Ironfist' was going to be the best MOD ever..

I notice there's only one moderator for this forum, while Izuno is indeed capable of keeping an eye on things on here I can't help but think there could be more, Im happy to do the job if you want or you could have a vote on it. This place isn't that busy at the moment I guess, but I suspect it could pick up so it might be an idea to increase the numbers...

i thought it does this by default

Sadly not, the default HL door goes like this:

    doormove.. doorstop. Open

    doormove..doorstop. Close

    Lame...

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I don't see anywhere else. anyway, basic setup in HL1 I want a swing door (like a bog standard wooden door) to open and close with the correct sounds. At present HL1's doorcode is an odd doormove and doorstop sound setup (based on the old Quake technology obviously). What I want is the door to open with the open sound and then close with a shut sound, you get me? I tried making a trigger in front of the door targeting a wav file that plays a door opening, a brief pause and then the closing sound. Sadly it works ok on one side, but not the other and I've no idea why, also doesn't always play the sound.. wtf. Obviously coding would suffice (but I'm not sure if this is an engine factor or can be altered in the game coding.)

It's only a little thing, but if I can pull it off it'd be great.

    > It looks very HL1 in parts, you've got more detail to take advantage of with source, so add more.

    > That train is terrible, sorry but subway trains don't look anything like that from what I've seen.

    > Some areas are very open and don't look right at all (ie subway0023)

    > Not sure about some of those textures..

    > Subway0024 reminds me of part of de_dust..

    > Scale looks a bit off and the paintings in subway0031 are a 'little' too high up imo.

    > What part of the world is it meant to be set in?

Hopefully that's not too harsh, good effort anyway!

I don't care either, and you know... you can still play the real game in your backyard or at a park.....

Agreed, I really don't see the point in football games, I mean games are meant to be there for you to do stuff you can't get away with in real life (ie shooting people in the face, being a firebreathing dragon, command an army etc), with football you can just go down to the park and play the thing anytime.

    Oh and.. DAT'S NOT FOOTBALL!!111

If HL1 only contained zombies, head crabs and alien slaves, yes.

I really don't see thew point in remaking HL again, you might as well not bother. Another BM episode in source would be decent, try to think up another twist on the storyline (it's been done to death almost, but with the new engine it could indeed be something special)
