1) a company cant fire you for not crunching.... of course you should work as efficiently as possible but often a company only gives unrealistically tight deadlines (which they know are impossible to make) to push people to their very limits.
I have heard of projects were marriages collapsed and people's health went down the shitter. You don't wanna go down that road. But once again it is a problem with the industry as a whole, not with one workplace in particular
2) It happens sometimes but it can't happen too often or you should be looking for a different field of work.

I used some custom fonts some things don't show up right and the formation may be fucked but yeah that's basically it. You need Powerpoint to run it. And yeah it was awesome! I wanna go back!!!

Went to Savannah on the weekend (Friday-Sunday) to hold a lecture at SCAD about becoming a game artist. I spoke for about 2 1/2 hours straight. After the speech a ton of people walked up to me to ask questions and for me to give them my contact info.... Then one of them said "Hi, I'm Jonathan." and I looked at him and didn't realize at first until I saw ferret smiling.. then it dawned on me OMFG HOLEMAN!!!! Sadly I didn't have time to talk much so it pretty much a "handshake-whatsup-handshake" conversation and talking about DOD for a bit.
Saturday night Ferret invited a bunch of people over to his place and we got wasted. Zilla and Kungfusquirrel might remember talking to me on AIM that night
Anyway I haven't had so much fun in a long long time and would love to go back soon!!!! For those of you who were there, what did you think of the lecture?

Girl Pulled From Class Over Hair Color
MARSHALL, Mo. -- An eighth-grader was taken out of class Tuesday because of her hair coloring, KMBC's Marcus Moore reported.
An administrator at Bueker Middle School said the girl's red highlights were distracting to other students.
School officials said there is a rule at Bueker that hairstyles that are distracting to the educational process are not allowed.
"Doing this is taking away from people's individuality," Kristen McCorkle said.
The 14-year-old, who is a straight-A student, said the school's assistant principal told her she had to go to in-school suspension and that she would be there until her hair is fixed.
"I didn't think that any of this would happen," the eighth-grader said.
She said she understands that some hairstyles can be distracting, but she doesn't think hers is.
"Like colors that are totally out of the norm, blue, or green, or purple. But I think red is more normal and I don't think that many people would disagree with me," she said.
"I don't feel that her hair is out of control," said Tim McCorkle, the girl's father. "It's definitely not outside of the boundaries that we have established here in the home."
The district's superintendent, Dr. Robert Gordon, said he was alerted to the situation Tuesday afternoon.
"This, as I understand it, is a matter of interpretation. I believe the assistant principal was doing what he felt was in the best interest of the kids," Gordon said.
Tim McCorkle, who is the Bates City police chief, said the school's policy needs to be reviewed.
"As one who has written policies, some need to be updated or sometimes they're just wrong," he said.
Gordon said he plans to speak with the student's parents about the situation.
Meanwhile, Kristen said the hair coloring was an accident. She didn't expect the highlights to be so strong and she plans to tone it down as soon as possible.
