I realize that there are a lot of things that could have been done differently, especially on the model and the surrounding environment... I will probably make a better scene for it at some point. I just wanted to show it off for the texturing work I did on it. As for the propellers, some of them are bent backwards a little bit, some of the engines are missing a couple fins.... it's kind of subtle though (the way i like it )

I don't think this is going to be used for anything...although if any of you would need this for a mod or something I would be glad to share it with you after talking with the guy who modeled it (dont think he's gonna have a problem with it). It was supposed to be used in Nuclear Dawn but that project seems to be dead. If anybody is interested in using this in their level or mod send me a PM and I will see what I can do.

I know about the ground. And I don't think it's a big deal really. The main idea is to draw focus to the plane, which is the only thing I am presenting here. The other stuff in the scene is mere decoration and serves more as background than anything else. Maybe I'll sit down and make some better islands some other time. But I think for now it's doing the job

Ok I got some more information on this and as it turns out this was actually done on purpose by the fire department which assessed that part of the building and found that the wall was in risk of collapsing by itself, so instead of taking the chance it was done under supervision. Strangely enough nobody cared enough to remove that car though.

Man it's been forever since I posted some work here. I started working on this object about 3-4 years ago when I was still working on Nuclear Dawn (lol). When I got the job at Ubi I never touched it again. But recently I decided to finish it up finally so I could add it to my portfolio. So here it is The model was done by Jonathan Smars, I did all the texturing. I added some more geometry to the really damaged parts because it was a bit toooo low poly. Right now it's at about 4000 polys, the texture size is 2048x2048 since it's a pretty huge object. The scene renders were done in UnrealEngine3, using some of Epic's stock assets to decorate it (the grassy bits and the water).

Yeah so this is not a joke...part of one of the walls of the Montreal studio of Ubisoft collapsed and buried a car in bricks and totaled it. I wasn't there obviously, so I don't know yet if anybody got injured or how bad the extend of damage to the building really is.

To be honest I am not surprised. The building is an old factory and not in the best shape.... It was only a matter of time until something like this happened.

yes but you can't edit dodge/burn later... use seperate layer set to overlay or mulitply or whatever and use light or dark colors to achieve the effect.

That texture was put on a hidden movable box in official DOD map dod_glider, so clearly it's where Valve got the inspiration.

one thing that McLaren seems to forget is that they were found guilty in this huge Ferrari-spying case and the FIA, even considering the severity of the offence, did not punish the driver but only the teams by taking away their points...so if there is a punishment the teams should lose the points not the drivers.
