not easy with 512 maps, it should come with bump map, not normal map, because there is a minimum pixel width to render depth on normalmap
No it's actually quite easy to do that. Paint a greyscale map in Photoshop, black is down, white is up. Then convert that into a normal map. This way you can have more dynamic structure to your normal map without having to model it. I do it every day and it works fine for me. The painted way isn't always the best way but it can do most normal maps pretty well if your grayscale map is good and defined.

does Source even have that?

links are still down.

I'd go to Plano so I could give Mike his spaghettios.
-
that phone booth must be using like a 1024 map or something. O_O
looks nice though.

Alright I start. For all you steam-purchasers: YOURE EXCLUDED.

cause maps aren't made in 5 days. Except sucky ones.
I know DD and Mikey are working on a CS:S map, so are Insta and I.
So prepare for some shots soon.

Stunning artwork, Zaphod. Your counter-strike maps look HILARIOUS compared to Bloodlines though

links are broken

not my fault people scale it up so much. (I know it sux but it would look at least a bit better if it wasn't scaled up so much)
the pic doesnt look like much, it's like insta said basically just ground and a square trench... a different pic would be good.

What Frie said. Crates are unoriginal and boring.
Use something to give the player cover that would actually be plausible in the specific location.
-
I like how Nexus is reviewing maps magazine style lately.
GG Blaz, map looks great. Now get that bitch converted to Source =)
-
yeah, wtf no crates. I'M NOT PLAYING THIS MAP.

these are all the errors i got after the installation. i clicked retry till it suddenly, magically worked. took about one hour

the game is reaaaally nice so far, though.

Now you need to add some of the structure to it and the cracks etc. Would look really cool then.

Well I disagree with the thread. I think Mapcore does indeed need a change, but away from the stupid and pointless posts and towards focused critique on artworks and a more mature community that attracts newcomers instead of scaring them away D:
