so let me get this straight...you take a video of something and run it through some bath process type deal you made and it outputs an awesome normal map for you?

Thx for the coverage zaphod Bic-B@ll I agree completely about that issue. It's more a global problem I guess, where all building materials should get affected by weather, dust, etc. You mean that, isn't it? The wooden beams near the ground in the last shot are quite disconnected because of that. There is a possible fix using some decals on those spots. At other areas of the map there is no such disconnection, at least not so big:

what i mean is that it's like the ground is one huge big ground thing, and the buildings are not even connected to it, they're not relevand or effect the terrain at all. i guess one potential way of making them blend in more is to dirty up the bottom edges of the buildings

i think youve done a super job with the map and im really impressed, but i cant stop thinking that all the buildings seem so disconnected with the ground, they jsut stick up out of it and dont interact at all, but i cant really think of how to fix that. maybe make a few corners of the buildings have drifts of sand or something. its just something that irks me and i dont know how it can be fixed

im not coder but id have to guess that it would be possible to make some kind of polygon intersection detection thing, you can do it with bullets and hit boxes. even if it was some kind of out of game thing for making the animations if ingame doing it was too resource intensive.

and id love to see volumetric water and a func_light entity that you can apply to a brush. brush based lighting ftw
