I can't touch pintos...
Some really good info about tweaking textures for gamma/linear space, texture artists should always take this into account: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/Texturin…0Linear%20Space
That's awesome, thanks for sharing man ![]()
Never played the first one cause I heard it was too linear.
FF XIII-2 has weird balancing though. I find that in most areas I can kill regular monsters with no problem at all (most in under 10 secs lol) but every time I reach a boss I never have high enough level to beat it at first. There's also this really annoying thing that if you take too long in a battle the enemy casts doom and then you have like 1 minute before you die.
Also wish there was a way to know the monsters' levels before going into a new area. It's pretty weird how some areas with high level monsters get unlocked very early in the game where you can get easily raped by even the crappiest mobs.
Got a PS3 a while ago: Minos321
Actually Ghost in the Shell 2.0 is a HD remaster of the original. Haven't seen the other ones yet.
The Hobbit. Characters weren't as interesting as in LOTR and the story lacked a bit of substance, but it still is a pretty good movie. It's also the last movie I see in 3D, fucking thing makes everything look darker and dull! 48 fps didn't make that big of a difference with the 3d glasses on to be honest (could barely notice any difference) but it looks super cheesy without the glasses. Really hope 48 fps is is not the new thing but just an experiment.

A Bronx Tale: One of the best gangster movies I have seen in a while, brought tears to my eyes in the end.
9.5/10
Ghost in the Shell 2.0: Easily one of the best cyberpunk stories ever created, art is amazine and the plot is very clever. Kinda reminds me of Neuromancer. Definitely gonna get the bluray and watch this a hundred times before I die.

Quote from FroyokThanks !
That's easy to do (took me a bit of time to figure it out however) ! Put this code inside a shelf button (for example) :
Code Display More{ string $sel[] = `ls -sl -fl`; if(size($sel) == 2) { undo; //deselecting last component selected string $FSel[] = `ls -sl -fl`; // storing first selected component string $LSel[] = stringArrayRemove($FSel, $sel); //storing last selected component //normal float $t[]; //temp float $n[3] = { 0, 1, 0 }; //default normal = up vector //query the first normal select -r $FSel[0]; $t = `polyNormalPerVertex -q -xyz`; $n[0] = $t[0]; $n[1] = $t[1]; $n[2] = $t[2]; //apply it to the second vertex select -r $LSel[0]; polyNormalPerVertex -xyz $n[0] $n[1] $n[2]; //reselect properly select -r $sel; } }Then select two vertices (source vertex first) and use the shelf button.
I could add this in the froTools when I think about it.
Thanks !
Damn, just tested it, works perfectly and much faster than migNormals! You are my hero man ![]()
Kickass work dude! That's the awesome thing about Maya, it's the worst modeling package out of the box but with scripts like this it gets unbeatable ![]()
Is there a way to pick a vertex normal value from a vertex and paste it to another one by the way? If so I'm gonna be using the hell out of this.
Quote from Vilhamdoes the FOV make you sick? The first one made me feel ill, couldn't play it for more than 30 minutes. Haven't touched it since.
Yeah that was the same reason why I never finished the first one, the PC port was very crappy and the FOV made me sick.
This one on the other hand is amazing though, runs really smooth and you can tweak the game as much as you like ![]()
Final Fantasy XIII-2: If you can look past the annoying characters and story you will find a really fun JRPG. It can be a bit confusing at times leaving it up to you to figure out where to go next but that's a cool thing imo, I was truly craving for some of that old school experience of not having the game telling you what to do the whole time. You rarely get that on nowadays games.
If you like RPGs and googling for character development guides and shit then this game is for you ![]()
Borderlands 2: Having a blast with this one, shooting is really solid and the game feels a lot more polished than Borderlands 1. I really like how you have to move around a lot and dodge projectiles, feels like playing a really good shooter from the past with awesome character development and skill trees ![]()
Pretty impressed by the PC port too, easily one of the best I have seen in ages. New lunch break game for me that's for sure. AAA+
Quote from KedhrinThis isn't really true... We need a new generation really bad. This prolonged console cycle is what is hurting AAA very bad. There's just too many things wrong with it on the business, bureaucratic and technical front. A new console is going to do wonders. I cannot wait and we've stopped all focus on current gen because of it.
It's really just weeding out old theories and old mentalities of thinking... which is a great thing, yet sad thing at the same time for those caught in the crossfire.
Also, as far as THQ is concerned, i wonder if we're going to get anymore royalty checks lawl
Can't see how a new generation of more expensive consoles will help solve those issues at all? It's gonna take a while until the installed based reach current gen's level anyway, pair that with higher production costs and you got a recipe for disaster
What is hurting AAA games are AAA games themselves and stupid design/production decisions, not the hardware.
Like this if you bought previous humble bundles and never played any of the games included for more than 5 minutes.

Quote from ng.anikiIt was more for the height of the doorknob and the door name/number thing that is higher than the head. I would find it weird, but it might not be that important.
Yup, you are absolutely right about this! The scale on the door feels a bit off because the knob is a bit high and big. It doesn't matter how tall your door is, if the knob/eye level details have proper scale and height it will always feel right ![]()
