Fucking jagger. I can only drink it twice a year... It takes my body at least 6 months to completely detox from it and I'm saving it for the next time I got to Brazil

Fun fact: that bottle is now on its third house since I bought it (some blizzard dude > philipk's > helder's). I always forget to take it back home and since everybody hates jagger, it stays in their fridge until the next party, where the bottle is taken in hopes that somebody will finally get rid of it which of course never happens

' timestamp='1365098938' post='328468']OT i know, but seriously guys, Doom3 was a gem. It might be a rough around the edges gem, but a gem nonetheless.
Rage was a great game, it just had a rushed and rough launch and some bad design decisions, this one in particular is a highly underrated game in my opinion, mostly because of both those reasons, which really is a gigantic shame.
People are just too picky nowadays, and extremely spoiled.
Man I know I'm probably gonna get lynched for this but I tried to play Doom 3 4 or 5 times and always get bored when the demons appear. The most I played was probably for 3 or 4 hours. I just can't stand the bland story, shitty gameplay, crappy weapon feel, predictable and cliche "scary" moments every 2 minutes, crappy pacing etc... the list goes on.
Game still looks awesome and better than 90% of games out there though, but that only serves to prove that beautiful graphics can't make up for shitty gameplay

Having said that I guess it was worth buying it on a steam deal for the art alone though. I always fire it up every now and then for inspiration.

Very nice, looks awesome!
You guys could give that main building (the one on the first screenshot) a bit more polish imo. Right now it looks like a bunch of cylinders with trimsheet textures applied
Get some windows and maybe a more interesting roof line in there. Should be worth the effort since it seems to be the main point of interest in the map.Another thing I'd do is to take it easy on that trim model being used on the building in the right, it gets repetitive very fast: [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/utk2UzB.jpg]
Looks much better when you have large clean surfaces (for breathing spaces) with the occasional trimwork. The guy on the right here is a great example: [Blocked Image: http://i.imgur.com/l6zD9DJ.jpg]

pretty crazy how I played this game over 10 years ago and still remember all the music:

If it looks as good and sharp as RDR on the 360 then there's nothing to fear

Fixed up the alignment a bit:

The school reminds me a lot of the Insurgency 2 school map

I hope you guys sneaked some hurgs into this game, otherwise I'm not buying it!

Duh, I've heard several people say that while i'm on the opposite side of the fence. To me S2 was spot-on fixed on drama since ep1... I need to go back and watch everything (right now i'm not following S3) back to back, S1 for me was a big disappointment, probably because I was tricked to think there was more action than actually was, and found it too slow to entertain me (except the last couple of episodes which hyped me a lot).
Yeah I don't get this, the second season was the best one so far in my opinion. They really developed the characters in that one, and even though there are some slow episodes those make the more fast-paced ones even more stressful and memorable.
QuoteThe third one on the other hand with that fucking one-eyed dude trying to rape the prison for no reason can get pretty annoying though.

- Be yourself
- Don't be a dick
- Leave your ego out of the door
- Don't do anything weird like picking your nose or scratching your balls
- No texting, no facebooking, to twitting
- Don't take credit for things you didn't work on
- Don't assume you are at senior level just because the job posting is for a senior position
- Be humble and genuinely interested in the company you are applying for. Research their games and ask questions about their workflow, project, future plans etc... If for some reason you are not familiar with the company, don't try to fake it, just be real and ask questions.
- Let the interviewers ask questions to you too
- Enjoy your time with the interviewers. If you didn't feel comfortable that's very telling of the kind of atmosphere you are going to face if you get hired.
- If you get asked something you don't know about just say you don't know instead of trying to bullshit some answer
- This is very important: no bullshitting. We can smell it.
- No racist jokes
- Dress nicely but don't overdo your look (no suits for an artist interview plz, unless you dress like that everyday)
- Get there early but not too early (if your interview is for 9:30 get there at 9:15 but not at 8:00, that would be weird)
- Try not to be hungover on your interview. Make sure you don't smell like alcohol.
- Don't comment rumors
- Don't talk shit of your previous companies. If it was a bad experience just say it wasn't the most pleasing place to work at, but don't go ranting about your former boss, colleagues or project...

Hey Ben, you got some nice work but you definitely need a better presentation. While you don't need a professionally designed portfolio, you need something that's organized and appealing. Right now your portfolio looks like something you would expect from a student and not from someone with AAA development experience. I'd start by removing that logo (bevel emboss is soo 90s, definitely makes you lose a point or two, NEVER use that
) and replacing it with something simple. Even plain arial on a black background works better. Do a google search for minimal design portfolios for inspiration if you like.Another design problem with your site is that the navigation is very unintuitive... and that's not a good thing on a level designer portfolio
I honestly didn't notice "personal work" was a link leading to more work simply because it looks like everything else in the page.Second, I think you need to broaden your skills. If you are not getting any replies it's either: your portfolio is not impressing anybody or there's simply no demand for your services. A designer that can lay out levels and do basic art passes is more valuable than one who only does scripting. You need to make it clear exactly what you do too, so a simple "about" section or introduction in the home page would help with that.
Hope that helps and good luck with the job hunt!

I really like that garage, one section of the wall really tricks my eyes into thinking it's 3D when it's actually flat.

The bit in the red box is what I'm talking about. Looks like the top of it is sticking out from the actual building, but the bottom half of the wall says otherwise.
Just something I noticed and I can't unsee it!

haha good call!

Tried to play my city again this morning. After getting it reset twice last week it now doesn't even load anymore... just says the file is out of sync and never syncs it.

Started a new region in a new server after trying to play that city one more time. Game crashed when I was laying out the initial roads lol.
My theory for all this crap is that I was playing that city at work, went home and resumed it before origin finished syncing the data and now it's stuck in a rollback loop. It's so annoying how the game never tells you when the city is saved or not.

Fallout 3 intro was fantastic, I loved how you had to play through growing up from a baby inside the vault

You could play as a baby growing up in the wastelands too
