Oh I'm not missing any of that point. As a gamer, or consumer, I couldn't care less. As a licensee, I definitely would. And I definitely respect that Crytek not only identified its stronghold but also wants to stay true to it. It just makes me all that more uninterested in it, because that's just not what I want as a gaming experience. Show me substance over beauty, show me that the form follows the function therefore art follows design then I'll be interested.

I think you are kinda missing the point as well.

First and foremost, as you said yourself, you are a console gamer so whether or not a puddle reflects accurately or not, it does not impact your judgment of the game as a entertainment piece, and well, yeah, it shouldn't.

But Crysis2 is not only a game, it is also a benchmark title for CryEngine3, modders and possible future licensees will look at this tech with different eyes now, after seeing what it can do, both on PC and consoles. If PC's are faster and stronger than consoles, why not take advantage of that and actually use it, and It's a free anyway.

Also, as you know, some companies do certain things really well, and others not so good. What Crytek does best, is graphical beauty and benchmark, and It's staying true to it's roots and one's got to respect that. It's the same for almost everything in life, if you as a individual are really good at something specific, it makes you valuable. Crytek has always been the best in it's field, and it wants to keep that spot in the podium.

I know what you mean. Sorry Crytekers but I gave up on Crysis 2 after 3 hours or so. Running and shooting the same grunts for hours is not exactly my idea of fun

But I'm glad Crytek is finally releasing this patch. It's good to see companies showing some love to PC users. Although this patch won't make me fire up the game again, I'm eager to open that editor (when it's out) and check out all the tech awesomeness and how you guys put together such a huge game

Working on a ctf map for tf2 [Blocked Image: http://www.minerality.fr/images/maps/tf2/ctf_woods_a160001.jpg]

Nice color palette, I love it. I've actually been thinking about making a KOTH map with a similar color palette for a while. (dark blue/cold colors outside and orange/warm colors inside).

What's up with the roof texture though? It looks very 1999'ish.

Still playing Pokemon White since it came out:

I think that this is the game that I have played the most on my DS so far. It's incredible how deep and addicting this game is. Too bad a lot of people just pass on it because of the weird culture surrounding the franchise.

If you have never played Pokemon before this is the version to get. It's a very polished and streamlined game compared to the previous titles. Now you can even go online and negotiate pokemon trades in real time! (I've been wishing for this feature since the first game )

Anyway, if anyone want to trade/battle send me a PM so we can exchange friends code!

Playing Enslaved right now. I love it very much! The perfect example of aesthetics being more important, way more important than graphics. This is truly the kind of game I'd like to work on some day

I played the demo and loved it. One of the best looking games of this generation. The character models are fantastic.

Love your work man. Fastlane is one of my favorite TF2 maps.

I kinda prefer your old portfolio though. It looked more stylish.

I think your portfolio would look more stylish if you dropped the rounded corners everywhere and made it exactly like your resume btw, it looks fantastic!!

Wouldn't surprise me. We might be witnessing the beginning of the fall of Steam now with F2P games and micro-transactions

    lolwut

Steam made almost $1 billion last year. I think it might be a bit early for the canary test at this point.

Well the day Zynga starts porting their crap to Steam will be the day I lose all respect for Valve. I really hope that never happens.

Huh? Where did you get that idea from?

Huh? Why wouldn't they? It's a huge platform with millions of clients, why wouldn't they want to bring their shit to steam? It wouldn't hurt their facebook crap one bit.

..because it's browser based and zynga does not need an unnecessary expense (such as steam) when they can get users directly from any browser.

Who in this industry has more money to burn than Zynga? Don't forget that Steam already has an integrated web browser... Anyway, I really hope I'm just being paranoid and nothing of this ever happens.

it would be an investment that wouldn't pay off for them. so, no, it's not going to happen.

Do you work as an analyst for Zynga? Because otherwise you are not changing my opinion.

The teaser looks sweet and the mod looks very unique. I'm definitely looking forward to it. That is exactly what the mod scene needs: Experimentation!

Hey it's cool. I'll answer some of your questions and concerns.Alot of the team are well known members that derive from places like Interlopers and Polycount. The project lead was the lead for the HL2 mod Nightfall. to be honest, and it's the fault on my behalf, I assumed before posting any clues that the Mapcore community would of had some vague idea of Canvas, seeing as I recognise some members on other forums. And didn't quite expect the irritation that would entail.

This wasn't any sort of ARG, or announcement, it was supposed to be a little trail of clues very shortly before we officially announce in a couple of hours. I ballsed it up I can see now .P But I can assure you it's not a 'derp I has mod guise hey' type episode. it's something that's been brewing for the last couple of years.

You will get your media I promise, and I hope clarified myself, something I should have done to begin with. Apologies!

    Edit: The Time is Now...

Our motto here on mapcore is: no pix no clix. Hope you understand that and don't get mad at us!
