So let's hear it for those of you who are playing it. What do you think? I hope to be playing this weekend if I have time.

Maybe buying the product just lets you route your packets through an uber speedy, relatively direct service provider rather than bouncing here there and everywhere, and the card is just an object to make you feel like you are getting something for your puchase

    wouldn't that be interesting.

The core question is, do these guys really know something about network lag etc that everyone else doesn't? if there is any chance of them making 3rd party cards, like video cards, that dramatically improve lag and latency issues, then you mean companies like Cisco etc that have a huge interest in providing this product could not do it? Maybe so

I'm not saying it's a marketing gimmick, i'm just wondering how realistic this is. The fact that they got $4 million in VC funding makes me wonder how serious this is...

    Here's something on Bigfoot's founder:

It's recent. It's going to be used as a promo commercial for the new season of the Simpsons in England.

Ah thanks for the info. Was curious what this was to be used for.

    and the news story:

    http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/news/?id=12038

    key quote:

    Quote

Bigfoot plans to use this financing to bring its first product to market this summer: the world's first Gaming Network Accelerator card, which purportedly will cut down on lag in online games.

"Bigfoot Networks products will infuse online gaming with blazing speed, making them a ton more fun," says Harlan Beverly, inventor, co-Founder, and CEO of the company. "We are to online games what 3D video cards are to graphics: essential. Eventually, we plan to completely eliminate the dreaded lag monster."

The movie was balls. We were being sarcastic. It is probably the worst movie I've seen in my life (and I've seen Spiceworld). Tha udience clapped because it meant they were free.

i figured as much. i just remember when the previews came out and we had another thread about it: http://www.mapcore.net/forums/viewtopic ... ltraviolet

Read my last post there. I guess the movie was even worse than I had expected.

Not that I want to go OT, but since we're talking about other series, you might wanna check Prison Break, the new Fox show. It's currently on a break until March 20th (iirc) and it's rather well done.

Just couldn't get into prison break.

Heard a lot of good things about Battlestar Galacticaigaiaackaktigica, but just haven't had time to cram that in my overstuffed TV consumption snackhole.

LOST THE GAME PLS! Though if you put the music in it, and some of the chicks get naked  i might be interested. Or if it had the story unfold in a cool way...with puzzles about the island, could be a cool adventure game but what a bitch to produce.

    Back on topic:

24 demo came out 2 issues ago in OPM.

    lol...

well often people with "common" type names get bundled up.

So it there are 20 "John Smith" people on moby, then often you will see a listing that has every game that every John Smith every got mentioned in the credits for in one listing. GG Moby!!!

I'm pretty certain it is actually between series 2 and 3 - the Palmer being poisoned and introduction of Chase era, in other words.

You are correct, sir. (at least according to reviews i've read)

After playing the demo, then reading the review on IGN, I can see that my fears from a long time ago when I first heard about the game were realized: great presentation for a PS2 game, weak weak gameplay with many problems.

Too bad. Really too bad. Very few TV show to game conversions are good. Sad thing is that 24 could have been a great game. I may rent it just cause I like the show so much.

Anyone get this yet? I tried the demo...found it rather meh. Just came out in the us. PS2 only.

Since so many people here watch 24 or watched in the past, was curious to see what people think of the actual game.

I am once again hooked on the latest season of 24. Somehow it keeps hooking me despite it's ridiculousness.

  • guess the movie from the animated gif! (or non animated pic)

way to stand up for what's right, Holeman.

Sounds like these guys were total losers and deserved getting whooped by just one guy. Good thing the cops came and nailed em. That is totally unacceptable.

Glad you came out okay. Lucky those guys didn't have any weapons...
