Worked quite a lot with zbr making tiling world texes on graw2 and I didn't care for the offset stuff zbr has built in but instead just used photoshop. It's usually pretty easy even on very deep rock textures and such. Just try and continue the patterns you have in the normal as good as you can and even handpaint over some seams.
99% of the time you need to make those kinda deep normals more tilable afterwards anyway when you actually see them in engine first time there's always a lot of removing small tiling areas.
I know this can be a bit irritating if you also render out more maps from the actual zbr-mesh such as AO or so. But this always worked for me anyhow.

Woh! has it even been 60h since it was released

No idea what I am on atm but it's grown a lot on me. I didn't really enjoy it too much in the beginning but now it's really fun.
-
Finally, I hoped someone would do this

Hope it'll see a release some day as well.

I guess these were the latest things.

I worked 36 hours straight to hit Quake alpha. This was about 4-5 months into nonstop crunch already; at one point I went two months straight going into work with no days off. Following that weekend for our alpha deadline, we got 2 days off (the ones who weren't there got to test for 2 days) and were crunching for beta immediately following, all the way through to ship another 5 months later. After we shipped, we were encouraged to used our built up vacation time - I didn't get any vacation for another couple months as I was working on the map pack and had been saving my vacation time to add onto paternity leave when my son was born, though I managed to get a couple days off to make a weekend trip back home for a football game that preceding August. One guy on the level design team had a health condition that got worse during the stretch and he was on medical leave for about 4-5 months. When he came back he only lasted another month or two before leaving the industry entirely. Our lead designer had stress-related health issues come up as well, but he escaped to Valve a little before we wrapped up the 360 version.
Before I was hired and through my first few months I was an eager up-at-7 kind of guy. It's been nearly 3 years since that crunch and I still don't sleep normally (there are other factors too, but my schedule has never fully recovered).

Woh. Last part sounds very familiar. But it's very up and down all the time for me. Atm I actually have quite a nice sleep cycle.

simple stone lantern prop for my L4D map. i'm putting in a shinto shrine to test my modelling/texturing skills so there's a lot more i still need to make after this one[Blocked Image: http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/9420/lantern01jr8.jpg]
I like that.
I did make a little very quick edit on the pic on what I would have added texture wise probably tho. Mostly to help out define the geometry better ingame I think it's nice to work some on the edges. I know edge worn is so 90's but there are a lot of ways you can do that and not only a 1px pencil line. And it does really help bringing out the geometry better in most cases. This as I said was very quick and isn't very good at all... But maybe it's an idea at least. Also tried getting in some colors here and there (if it would be used in a grassy kind of environment).

Nice job. Have to try this one out for sure

Oh interesting. I really like the 5th pic, very simple and neat.

Looks like a solid site and the content isn't bad either

Good job.

Tried widescreen ones but never fell for them. Probably just because I'm way too used with a standard one. I know a lot of people like the wide ones and they take up less space so if you have a wide screen I'd say go for that if you haven't really got used to a standard one yet.
