    heh nice site

But I honestly believe that it's just a matter of time until a more serious "ban doom3" website goes live

I just want to show that I already know how to work with Sandbox (mapping with the program the company works with you want to apply to makes sense) and can adopt given styles. It isn't that innovative but since I have no time to learn modeling/skinning anymore, it's the smartest thing to do.

No offense, but I do not want to hear ANY ranting about how easy it is to map for such a game from people who have never touched the editor this time. Ever tried to get all the terrain and cliffs look right in Sandbox? Textures, lighting, adding all the vegetation? It takes time to get satisfying results, so an advise for the future: Please don't bash other people's maps because they don't base 99% on bsp brushes.

Sadly I haven't found someone to skin it yet, so here's the SDK (skin development kit) for everyone who wants to give it a shot:

    SDK download

Here are 2 WIP shots from the editor, just to show you that the "almost-done" map actually exists and will be finished/your work won't be trashed

    Bump mapping plz olo~

That area looks very nice, but although your intention is to create a really weird feel in the map, the gingerbread house looks totally out of place and kinda destroys the atmosphere in my eyes. I would place it in a seperate snowish area, or at least make the grass/rocks fade to snow covered ground/rocks, so there isn't a gingerbread house with snow all over it in the middle of a grassy landscape. Just my 2 cents.

Good job ferret, keep it up!

I think the idea is pretty good, but what kind of maps is that mappack supposed to contain? Only CS maps? Only TS maps? Or a mixed mappack?

I might add to the previous suggestions, that the beams (or do you call it carriers?) in the 4th pic look strange and don't fit the architecture. Rather unusual for such a setting.

Nice stuff, keep it going rulfi!

Each time I visit the site/forums I have to log in again, although I check the auto login box. So the problem still exists.

Yea, a "safe for work" button would totally secure you from threads with explicit content

Wooh it's really happening! Many cool features on the site now, thanks a bunch eeenmachine!

I think the best thing to do would be adding a section for tutorials in the forums, where people can post their tutorials and readers can directly reply asking further questions, comments (whether the tutorial was helpful or not), suggestions and requests. Sounds even better than the average tutorials section on other sites to me.
