  • D.E.A.D a HL2 Mod looking for mappers/texture/skinners

One advice which generally applies to every MOD out there:

Put 1 or max. 2 gamemodes in your MOD. I know you want to make your MOD as exciting and entertaining for as long as possible, but adding 5 gamemodes or even more is not a good solution, because

    1. Making and polishing one gamemode for a total conversion is already a tremendous piece of work, so adding 3-4 of those in the first release doesn't make things easier. You will most likely end up with a semi finished product after 3 years of development, with a team which lost interest and motivation in the project.

    2. You got a very dedicated, hard working team or even consider to go with one or two gamemodes for the first release and add more in later versions? But why would this make your MOD more fun to play? Do more gamemodes attract more players? I am convinced the answer is no, because more gamemodes make your MOD more complex, less transparent and attractive to players than it needs to be. Think about it: Mods like Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat and Natural Selection didn't need more than 1 or 2 gamemodes to be fun and popular.

Try to be as original as possible about one gamemode. Make it innovative and fun. Leaving the gameplay completely up to the mapper is not a good idea, this is a game designer's call, it's your MOD and if you are honest about multiple game modes, it all comes down to: Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Assault and Assassination/Guarding.

How much USD does it cost? I think it will take at least half a year until it ships in Europe...it sounds pretty cool though, I like it that you can connect it to your PC via USB and store movies on it.

I just saw a weeping woman who was protesting against the tube removal, she said something alonge the lines of "why are they doing this to her, I can't take this anymore yaddayadda cry". This was followed by an "emotional" speech of the parents lawyers who compared schiavo's appearance with that of an "Auschwitz detainee".

All this while thousands of people starve to death each day.

The fact that politicians like the Bush brothers exceed each other with political interference and hypocracy in this case, just for sympathy from potential voters, tops it off.

But the truely fucked up thing is the media coverage, which is the cause of all this hysteria. The media could make the president send in the marines when a sloth is about to fall down a tree in New-Guinea to save it, if there is enough reports about it.

    umm, yes

so what if theyre the most popular? i can run those two, and find 20 things, but then run the others and still catch shit with every one of them, my point was that you cant find them all with just one program, and i gave a big list of the program names you can use, theyre all unlimited, and free

The funny thing is, that they detect each other as spyware. For instance when you install search and destroy, it will detect the quarantaine of adaware as spyware. So you gotta look closely on what the other programs "still actually find"

I also freak out easily when it comes to sharp objects, I cut myself pretty bad in my left pointing finger with a knife when I was carving a wooden stick as a kid.
